Love the mountains but the night time driving after dinner not-so-much? Love delicious food and upscale shopping? Love the beauty of waterfalls and nature? If you answered "YES," then you will love the comfort and location of this Highlands home.
This wonderful house is literally a five minute stroll to downtown Highlands. While the location is as good as it gets, you will find the house has everything you need for a short or long stay in Highlands. Private, yet close to everything you want to enjoy in the mountains. The house sits on a quiet cul-de-sac with four other homes. The backyard deck is perfect for a night in, and the front porch swing is the perfect spot for morning coffee or a glass of wine. This home is meticulously maintained and decorated into a peaceful retreat. You'll enjoy the luxuries of home -- cable TV, Roku, full washer and dryer, telephone, wi-fi, a complete kitchen, stereo with jack for your iPhone, a large bathtub in the master with a separate shower. On cooler days, the gas fireplace takes out the chill or the central heat is ready at the flick of a switch. On rare warmer days, the central A/C is available.
The master bed provides a wonderful night's sleep. Lower the black-out shades, turn on the ceiling fan, and enjoy the comfort of the king-size memory foam mattress, king size pillows, and high quality bedding.
Upstairs, in the second bedroom, you'll find a queen size bed, flat screen TV with DVD player, a cozy reading chair and walk-in closet. This room can be turned into a private "suite" by simply closing the door that leads to the upstairs landing. Then the full size bath and bedroom are completely private.
If you're bringing more guests, the third bedroom (also upstairs) has two twin beds, a large walk-in closet, and a comfy reading nook. This third bedroom is perfect for children.
Like to prepare some of your own meals while you're there? No problem in the fully-stocked kitchen, where you will find everything you'll need to cook a full meal or pack a picnic for the day's hike.
The full size washer, dryer, iron and ironing board are available and there is a half bath off the laundry room, as well.
You have access to the entire house and exterior porches.

NO PETS ALLOWED. Violation of this policy will result in forfeiture of security deposit. We strictly prohibit pets due to allergies of future guests.
Our house can sleep up to eight, but that number can only include a maximum of six adults. The master bedroom is downstairs, and there are two bedrooms upstairs. The upstairs bedrooms are very spacious, and the one with the queen bed can be turned into a suite by closing the door to the loft. This gives the guest(s) in that bedroom total privacy and an ensuite bath. However, there is only one bathroom upstairs. This may be too close for comfort for some adults, so make sure to take this into consideration. One of the upstairs bedrooms has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds. Moving furniture or mattresses is not allowed. There is an open loft upstairs with a twin day bed. This area is best suited for 1-2 children who don't have a problem being near stairs.
Maximum number of people allowed in the house overnight is EIGHT.

My husband and I own two vacation rentals, one is a condo on Dauphin Island, AL and the other is a house in Highlands, NC. We think it's great to have a place to stay warm in winter and cool in summer. I manage both vacation rental properties, and have successfully done so for the past three years. We are very particular about our properties and strive to keep them impeccably clean and well maintained.
I love to travel with my husband to historic places and sites of natural beauty. We like to hike, go to the beach, eat great food and learn something new when we travel. I am very grateful for the beauty of God's creation and for the opportunities for adventure that come our way. We also love spending time with our family - five children and eight grandchildren.
