Weather Conditions -
(Cool Season: Nov-Feb)
Cool mornings, hot and dry during the afternoon, cooling off quickly in the evening. Very rare chance of rain. Still green vegetation around.
(Hot Season : March - May)
Very hot and dry until the monsoon rain starts around Thai New Year in May. Land can look quite dry and dusty depending on any unseasonal rainfall.
(Wet Season : May October )
The arrival of the monsoon rains turns the vegetation green very quickly and provides a cooling effect although it can feel quite sticky. Good time to see the sea of mist in the valley below and around the house. Monsoon rains tend to be heavy and infrequent lasting no more than a couple of hours a time, and 3-4 times a week.
This area is surprisingly unspoilt by tourism as most foreign tourists tend to gravitate towards Chaing Mai when looking for cooler mountain regions in Thailand. However there are a number of small resorts/restaurants nearby due to the Khek river being one of the best for river rafting in Thailand. A trip can be organised during the wet season when the river is high.
