The suite I am offering is the incredible lower apartment of my townhouse outfitted with a modern-rustic feel showcasing urban living in a true Washington DC neighborhood. Decor & amenities were placed exclusively with AirBnb travelers in mind :)
This space resembles the passion I have for interior design/being creative. It seems the current decor trend in big cities is simply modern. I have never believed that modern alone fully fits the bill in terms of allowing folks to have that "at home" feel. So I personally prefer to add in the softer touches of lighting, sounds of trickling water, plants, warm colors, and lastly nice smells to help polish off the rougher and colder edges of modern to ensure a warmer stay. Both bedrooms are situated at opposite ends of the apartment and features TWO QUEEN BEDS with designer brand sheets and comfortable designer pillows. I always reinvest at least ten percent of my revenue in purchasing new bedding and changing out worn items to keep the space fresh for everyone who stays. I personally feel every dollar I earn from guests should be revealed in the details of this home. This space also comes complete with your essentials.
Lastly, I've added a fire pit out back for guests to enjoy! I figured this would be a nice touch to get folks outdoors and have the chance to cozy up to a nice fire. I kindly ask you leave behind $10.00 a bundle of wood you break into :-)
There are two dedicated and full bedrooms. The master has a queen sized bed with ambient under-bed lighting. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed with a light up wall feature. Just in case you MUST try out the space and you have that fifth wheel, there's a nice firm leather couch in the living room that can be made up as well.
Ironing Board w/Iron
Coffee Machine w/ Bean Grinder
Potato Chips (hey, it's essential for some people)
Basic cooking condiments
50 inch flat screen smart TV (hooked to wifi)
Cable television with HD channels
WiFi Connection (high speed)
Most importantly a scent-wave system installed to allow the place to smell like white tea. During the holidays, I replace the scents to create the Autumn & Holiday smells of the winter.
At night, the candles illuminate and stay lit on a timer for five hours and bedroom ambient lighting can be controlled at your leisure. There's a Brita water filter pitcher in the fridge along with a few fresh bottles of water for your convenience.
**Notice** There are external surveillance cameras on the property. Three in the front yard and one in the backyard with one pointing towards the garage. Should you encounter any issues at all during your stay, I'm happy to review any footage you may need :-)
Access to the space is in front of my townhouse, separate, and on the exterior of the townhouse on the lower level. I do not have access to this space from the upper floors of my town home. Whilst staying, you're more than welcome to enjoy the backyard, and my back deck space if you choose. There's a set of furniture in the far backyard you can enjoy as well. There is a back door that leads to the backyard.
Общение с гостями
This is a fully SEPARATE unit. For the times I'm in town, I'm more than happy to help or answer any questions you may have, I absolutely love meeting different folks of different walks of life. Otherwise, my interaction with you will be minimal and solely at your discretion. I respect my guests and like to ensure your privacy is well-respected and at your own guidance shall I interact with you.
Другие важные подробности
This neighborhood is quiet and a .08 mile walking distance to the closest metro station with bus stops on each end of the street. Buses come fairly regularly.
The H street corridor was voted one of America's Best Hipster Neighborhoods, by Forbes, for a reason. I hope you get to check them out and enjoy! There are plenty of restaurants 4 blocks away along with a trolley car that carries you right to Union Station!
Both the front and back entrances have a set of 5-8 steps. This is a basement terrace apartment as part of a DC row house. Some ambient sounds travel through the floors, however, are minimal.
I do expect my guests to respect the quiet nature of the neighborhood and do not allow any additional guests not listed on the reservation to be entertained beyond a reasonable dinner-cocktail interaction. I ask guests respect my space as if you would respect your home or anyone else's.
I require guests to reach out to me on when they will check in and to wait for me before entering the space. There are elements that need just a little explaining by myself. I only provide the door code for you to use in the event that I'm not able to check you in (if I'm still at work or out of town)
Pets that shed any fur are not allowed. Hypoallergenic, house broken dogs are welcome.
With that, I kindly ask you leave your shoes by the front door upon entering :-) This helps to ensure the condition of the home remains just as clean for the next guests. I take pride in the fact that guests should be able to walk around barefoot and not get any crumbs stuck to their feet :-)
I felt the need to add in this rule recently and that is on both beds there are decorative pillows. Both beds have euro shams as well as duvet covers that are Hotel Collection brand. This brand is pretty expensive and I ask that you do not use the decorative pillows to rest your heads on or lean against. Just place them off to the sides of the beds. Also, I ask you do not eat on the beds. I've already had some food spillage and dry cleaning of the bedding as a result.
Air conditioning: Feel free to use as cold as you want. However, I do request that if it is humid outside please do not open the doors and windows for fresh air. The hardwood floors will absorb the moisture and cause them to warp. I've already had an issue with the floorboards in the living room warping as a result. If anything just leave the air on warm if you prefer it warm so that at least the air conditioning system will remove humidity from the space. If its a cool and dry spring or fall day, open em on up!
Smoking: I DO NOT permit smoking indoors. However, you're more than welcome to smoke outdoors. Please be sure to dispose of cigarette butts accordingly. I have a pot out front and a pot out back for you to dispose of cigarette butts in. Marijuana in Washington DC is legal to use for recreational purposes and I also require that this be smoked outside as well.
My home is NOT childproof. I'm hopeful that all persons who are accompanying children inside my home exercise caution and helps to ensure nobody gets hurt :-)
Lastly, if you choose to cook anything on the stove that is extremely smokey (bacon for example) please use the outdoor burner on the grill. The grill is located just out the back door and the burner is far more effective on the grill than the flat top cook surface indoors. Unfortunately the smokey scents do leave behind unpleasant odors and also carries upstairs into my town home as well.
I'm a 34 year old professional who owns a small interpreting agency here in Washington DC. I'm an introverted extrovert, meaning I most certainly spend more time at home charging my batteries only to pop out, be the life of any party, then dip back home for another long charge.
My passions include home design, landscaping, and exploring philosophy. Five things I cannot live without are Cinnamon Toast Crunch, my iphone, my family, my holiday decorations, and most importantly..... I cannot live without myself present! Good one eh? Nah, not arrogant.... just displaying my sense of ground :-)
My favorite destination thus far would be Pagsanjan Falls, Philippines. The journey upstream in a small canoe was magical. It's a must see for anyone who wishes to explore what this amazing universe has to offer.
