If you are coming to visit Johannesburg and want to be part of the action and diversity that the city has to offer, yet want the peace and security of heart and mind, then our beautiful home is for you. We have a couple of options available to you:
We have two furnished cottages available. They each have a bedroom with a double bed, separate lounge, kitchen and bathroom. You can come and go as you want as there is a separate entrance to the cottage.
In the main house, a spare room is available. The house has pressed ceilings, oregon pine floors and a wood burning fire in the lounge for our short but chilly winter nights. The bathroom and kitchen have mosaic floors. The house and cottages have wi-fi connection.
In the garden we have a small plunge pool, great for the long and hot summer days. There are a number of decks with views over the city -great for breakfast’s or sundowners. The house is shared by our lovable dog, Tarka, who is happy for anyone wanting to go with him on walks in the nearby park.
We also have a student house which has four rooms and a bathroom, kitchen, dining room and living room. At the moment we have two volunteers working for the year at a local shelter for women. The other two rooms are available for students, interns or volunteers.
We are close to public transport - mini bus taxis, buses and the rea-vaya (which can take you through town and to Soweto)
*15 minutes drive from OR Tambo airport
*Close to shops and shopping centres
*2 km's from Arts on Main and the Maboneng Precint
*5 km's to Newtown and the Market Theatre(theatre, art, music)
*Walking tours of the inner city, Alexandra township and Soweto can be organised.
*For those wanting to leave the city, trips to the Magaliesberg (about a 2 hour drive) and the Pilanesberg Game Reserve (a 3 hour drive) can be organised.
