Light filled groovy architect designed home with pool and a great location. Scandinavian simplicity in Byron Bay.
Our beautiful home is a gorgeous haven in heavenly Byron Bay. It's so light and fresh and features white oak floors and moroccan tiles throughout. Inspired by many, many years of travel we have gathered everything we love most and put it into this creation. There is lots of open space. Lots of good design and lots of love in our home. The pool and outdoor patio are integral to the home's beauty and charm as the house features lots of glass to capture the northern light. The area outside is perfect for alfresco dining and it looks onto beautiful palm trees and the forest beyond.
We are nestled in a little cul de sac, on the doorstep of town. It is quiet and tranquil. We are only a 15-20 minute stroll into the heart of town or an easy (flat) 5 minute bike ride. We have a couple of brand new bikes here for you to use throughout your stay too. The closest beach is Tallows and it is a short 10 minute walk away. This sublime property offers blissful seclusion, a stunning interior and a prime beachside setting.
Our home takes its design cues from classical European/Scandanavian architecture while cleverly integrating cutting-edge design features and contemporary luxuries.
Designed by architect Dominic Finlay Jones it has his signature generous volume rooms and interesting ceilings. It's perfect for entertaining with free-flowing living areas and a separate snug or teen retreat.
The ground floor houses an open plan north facing, lounge and dining area which has high ceilings, lovely views over the pool and through into the bush setting. Through an oversize doorway we enter the very scandanavian kitchen with large glass sliding doors which provide easy access to the enchanting garden, the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed meal in the late afternoon sun.
The first floor is home to three bedrooms, including a master suite with views over the pool and garden. Also upstairs are two other bedrooms (both with double beds) of generous proportions and an oversize bathroom with double shower, freestanding bath, double sink and lots of light and windows. There is also a separate toilet.
Downstairs there is another queen size bedroom with large ensuite, separate toilet and it's own courtyard.
This house is beautiful, stylish and it is also an incredible base for any stay in Byron Bay.

Cleanliness is very important to me and I am pleased to offer a very clean house. Throughout the year we have rented out our downstairs room as a separate studio through airbnb but we have never rented out the whole house to anyone. We are a little bit nervous but nothing that the reassurance of a responsible adult can't fix!!!
You will have access to the entire home.

Each of the upstairs bedrooms has walk in wardrobes but these are locked throughout your stay. Instead of these we will provide simple hanging and clothes storage solutions for your short stay.
For bookings of one week or more we also will provide a cleaner who will come into the house for a couple of hours throughout your stay, just to keep things perfect and tidy for you. This makes things lovely for you and it also means that when you leave the final clean will not be quite as onerous.
There are not that many reviews for our home because we don't rent it out too often (it is hard to leave here when it is so nice).
This is a brand new home. It is our pride and joy. As such don't be offended if we feel we need to get to know you a little as we want to feel totally safe leaving all our beautiful things in your care.
Noise, Parties & Behaviour: The house is for regular occupants only. Parties are not permitted under any circumstances and there is to be no disturbing noise between 10pm to 8am with no excessive noise at any other time. If your behavior or that of your guests causes damage, danger or annoyance we reserve the right to ask you to vacate the property immediately and be treated as a cancellation inside 30 days. Please note functions of any kind are not permitted and the invitation of additional guests is not allowed.
Smoking & Pets: There is strictly no smoking inside the property and we ask also you to leave your pets at home as they are not permitted.
Garbage Removal & Cleaning: The occupants are required to leave the property in the same clean, neat and tidy condition, as it was when they arrived. This includes, without limitation, washing up, fridge cleaned out, BBQ cleaned and rubbish to be placed in appropriate bins provided on vacating the property. If additional extra-ordinary cleaning is required the cost will be charged against the credit card (security deposit). In an attempt to keep rates low we only have provision for rubbish for the household bins only.
Check-In, Check-Out & Keys: Check-in is from 2pm onwards and check-out is 10am. We will meet you at the property at your agreed time from 2pm onwards (earlier if we can do it) and hand over keys.
Conditions & Cancellations: See airbnb policy set on strict.
As we entrust our home to you and leave it in your hands, complete with bespoke and often expensive fit-outs, we do expect that our guests show the utmost care and responsibility as it is expected that the property and furnishings be returned in the exact same condition at the end of a stay as at the beginning. Before booking please understand it is a requirement that any damage and/or accidents, unintentional or otherwise, are the responsibility of the guest and that the guest will meet these costs, small or large. Given its definition we do accept that accidents may occur but any accident is the responsibility of the guest.

We are in our 40's and i work in communications/pr and my husband is in tourism. We have two children and we all love to travel and are crazy about France. My husband and I met in Antibes 20 years ago. After working on boats for a bit I brought him back to Australia with me (he's a Pom). We then lived and worked in Sydney for a time and then got itchy feet and headed to Byron. That was 20 years ago now. We forgot to leave! Byron is where our children were born and it is the place we intentionally decided to call 'home'. I hope you fall under her spell too.
