You couldn't ask for a better location and the apartment is charming and spacious. You step out into the heart of le Marais with excellent shops and markets all around you (marche des enfants rouge, wild & the moon for vegans, pinson, nanashi are all on the block). The building seems to be mainly for short term boarders and some were quite loud coming in late at night. Additionally, just across the courtyard is the back door to a very popular after hours bar, The Little Red Door. With the summer heat they opened the back door, so on the courtyard (literally directly outside the two bedroom windows which remain open) is filled with smoke, music, and people talking until 3am. Salome was very responsive about booking and access, but not responsive when we had a plumbing problem (the shower wouldn't drain), first not getting the message (the only one she didn't get), then asking us to try and fix it ourselves for two days, then saying no plumbers could come on a weekend, then finally sending over a "plumber" with no tools of any kind, the night before we checked out. We were there 5 nights, and I reported the trouble the first morning. Also a previous reviewer mentioned allergies and mold and there is clearly mold (visible in bathroom and the odor is pervasive in the damp lowered bedroom). This would be a problem for allergy sufferers, as well as the smoke from the bar. Wouldn't discourage staying here, just be aware of these things. There were lots of Paris guides (we left our brand new one there, too), many converters, a hair dryer, a great iron. It's a teensy convenience kitchenette but all you need a is a place to store the stuff you get at the market. Also, it stayed very very cool on some of the hottest days in Paris, so that was a great plus.
