It's a peaceful house inside a 2-acre field, with an all-around covered terrace, a barbecue, sea view and a private road to the beach. The house was recently built, has a fully equipped open kitchen, and receives a lot of natural light.
Even Bruno lives in Portugal he is very responsive and helpful. A non-English speaking neighbor is the local contact who opens the house and helps if practical issues pop up. For non-French-speaking the communication is not so easy, but Bruno is helpful in mediating the communication. We enjoyed the house and especially the extremely nice beach a short walk from the house. A well equipped kitchen was also a nice feature with the house. We was had the house in late October but the house is located on a south west fronted hillside so it was still warm. At least for a Dane. We had a wonderful holiday.
We had a lovely holiday in Bruno's family house. The view is amazing, just as described. The area is so peaceful! We loved the silence and the sky full of stars at night. The house is really, really nice. The decoration is a bit basic, but the kitchen is very well equipped! The terrace is so pleasant that if you go in summer you don't really spend too much time inside. The beach close by it's a dream, even nicer because the accesses are via a really bad road, so I suppose some people may avoid it. :-) We had almost a private beach! If you go with small children just be aware that in the terrace there is this small pool, not too deep, but can be dangerous with small kids. Having said that, we did go with our 2 1/2 year old and it wasn't a problem, but we tried to keep the pool accesses blocked with open doors and other objects. And he loved to paddle in the pool. Bruno is a very nice host. Despite the distance, as he lives in Lisbon, he was always reachable by email. We had only a small problem that due to late departure of the previous hosts the house was not properly clean, but as soon as we mentioned it to Bruno he immediately apologised and tried to sort it out. As Bruno is not there, the house key and maintenance is done by Alain, which is really nice and friendly. His house is close close by, so he sorts out any problems. Only caveat is that he doesn't really speak English. But we did manage to communicate well with him. And in any case communication can go via Bruno. We really recommend this house and we may even come back!:-)
