I would selfishly like to keep this host all to myself so I hesitate in writing a good review. However, that wouldn't be fair so. . . AirBnB is convenient for many of us, due to the price, first and foremost. However, for me anyways, I prefer it over a hotel because there is never anyone knocking on my door at odd hours asking to do room service whether I need it or not. There are no late-night drunkards in the hallways, and I suspect the bedspreads require much less apprehension under a blacklight. That goes for bedbugs as well. I would much rather spend time in a home, feeling at home amongst homey things, than in a sterile hotel room with the annoyance of strict checkout times, card-key knocking, and the sound of vacuum cleaners all day long. Simone and Susan treated me like an old friend who had come to stay, rather than just another guest who would shortly be on his way again. My room was clean and enormous. I enjoyed a very comfortable bed with two large windows, a desktop for working, and quite a few amenities in case I had forgotten them at home. I had hangers in a closet, a large bathroom right outside the door, and space in the refrigerator and even kitchen cabinets. The apartment is on the second floor so that was a real blessing not to have to hike every single day. The location wasn't ideal, as far as proximity to lower Manhattan is concerned. However, given the comfort of the space and the proximity of great public transit, the location was completely acceptable. I will stay there again if the space is available. I spent a lot of time with my hosts and they recommended a lot of great locations for me to visit or experience. I was never made to feel like I was in the way or like my schedule was inconvenient for them, even when I had some early mornings and late nights. I was offered food from day 1, every day and every meal I was present for. Anyways, I could go on, but the fact of the matter is, this space is great for my needs and I will be looking for it again the next time I come to town, regardless of what part of town I need to be in.
