First, the positives: the place is awesome!! Top notch location, decor, "feel", etc. Huge bathroom with nice tub and rain shower head. Comfy bed. Great A/C. Nice den with TV (though I didn't watch, it comes with detailed instructions on how to use the two remotes). Nice thick towels. Ironing board and iron provided. Nice equipped kitchen. (No free coffee or tea like a lot of places, so buy or bring your own, if you need that.) Awesome 2100 watt hair dryer...not one of those little travel ones that take forever to dry hair. Very close to the port.
Next, the negatives: I was told that free parking at the Citadel / Cemmetary was easy and within 6-7 minutes walk from apartment. True, there is parking there but GOOD LUCK finding a spot. I tried two separate occasions (time periods of the day) and finally had to resort to EXPENSIVE paid parking at Place des Lices Parking and then again at another lot about 10-12 minutes walk away. I have not checked out yet, so I am scared to get that parking bill soon. I believe it will be about $40-50 in parking fees by the time I leave here and I was only here for much less than 24 hours. So just know this when you book this room...you must likely add parking fees if coming by car. Wish I had been forewarned. The other thing was the Wifi. I am sure there is Wifi, but there was nothing in the apartment letting me know the network or password. There was a booklet that describes things in the apartment. I had assumed it would be in there, but it wasn't. By the time I realized, it was just too late to contact Zillah. Luckily, I had a wireless router so I just paid that expense and used wifi from my own router. Would be nice for her to include the wifi info in that booklet of info.
Overall, a great comfortable stay ONCE you find parking (driving around those streets is extremely stressful and this comes from a normally good and relaxed driver who is used to navigating herself around new cities.) I just mention this to help others arriving. The parking situation added another hour to my journey time in getting to Zillah's place...but once you arrive, it is an oasis. Really wonderful.
