it took sometimes to answer you as I wanted to go in-depth with the owner before giving you an answer.
I deeply regret about what you have written it happened to you the last night of your stay in the house. I do understand how you felt, expecially thinking about your kids.
I can tell you the area where the house is located is very quite and free from delinquences. Unfortunately, as in many other very quite areas some little thief, although very rarely, can come from outside.
In this case, the door of house hosted you has a security lock, to be understood with long keys like a safe, and the fact that there is no sign of forced entry suggests that the door had not been closed for the night. I can understand that as the area inspires for sure a very safe atmospèhere, despite that we suggest to ever close the doors for the night.
When, therefore, whilst you were leaving, you told to the owner, 150€ were been stolen to you, the owner and I, were really shocked and sorry. In any case, I can tell you the house has a safe at complete disposal of our guests, and the current door, if closed, is very safe and cannot be opened without break it.
As regards the building site:
It is a house at the back (not attached to the house but across the street and further down) under renovation. The works, started in spring, are rather ahead and in any case they end at 5 pm. No one of the previous guests in 2018 make any comment on that. The works will be anyway closed in few weeks.
A regards the air conditioned is present both on the ground-floor than on the first floor. We would be more than happy to help you in turning on it.
As in your case, we decided to write this last thing only in the spirit to partecipate to the airbnb experience.
We displeased a lot, when, thanks to our call to Vacavilla, after you left the house, you came back to take the suitecase you forgot, the first thing you did was to check the contents.
