We stayed for ten days in Vincente's apartment while visiting our daughter who is taking part in a school exchange programme in San Fernando. San Fernando itself is a small but lively town, when we arrived on a Friday evening it was buzzing. There are some nice squares with cafes along the pedestrianised Calle Real. Not spectacular but a good place to be based and you won't see another tourist.
The apartment is a large, clean, well-designed modern flat with very good up-to-date kitchen facilities, induction stove, microwave, dishwasher etc. The bedrooms had beds with good mattresses and there was good storage facilities. There's a pleasant terrace ideal for breakfast or evenings. The view is of the back of houses on a parallel road but far enough away not to feel overlooked. Bacause it is on the top floor it does feel warm in the evenings and we used the airconditioner in the livingroom for an hour or so. It was quiet except for the occasional yapping dog from the buildngs opposite.
Calle Real, is only a couple of minutes away. There are plenty of small shops and a superarket nearby. We hired a car to visit Cadiz and surroundings, (I would strongly recommend a vist to Vejer), but I believe there is good public transport. There are large, free, public parking areas nearby.
We didn't meet Vincent during our stay but were given the key and advise, (in Spanish), from his neighbour.
