Between restaurants and museums, parks and the sea - What's missing? You! Why not take a break, enjoy the getaway you've been talking about, and come to Portland this season!
It's a loft! It's an art gallery! It's Airbnb! Open, airy fourth floor space surrounds you with original Maine contemporary art with gallery lighting. Is there a better location in Portland? Not likely. You are just steps from the closest excellent restaurant, visible from the entry steps. Within one block you can be at Victoria Mansion, a tap house, a jazz club, a speakeasy bar, or Longfellow Square, ringed with excellent restaurants. A few minutes more takes you to the Old Port and the waterfront. Yet this is a quiet residential street.
You have the whole apartment, the top floor with a view of Casco Bay. Ready for occupancy now after lengthy and extensive reconstruction, it is all modern in a 19th century row house on Portland's most beautiful street in every season.

I greet you on arrival to assist with luggage, the entry system, and an orientation to the apartment. I'm glad to advise you on where to go or how to get there, but it's your trip, not mine, so I stay out of your way while being available for your needs if you have them.

Welcome! Young and starting out, older and retired? Single, married? American, foreign? Gay, straight? Working, resting? Whoever you are, you will be welcome in Portland and welcome in my apartment. I don't care where you come from, what you look like, or who you love - except to celebrate it!
AirBNB is not a hobby or idle diversion for me. This is what I do. You are my focus, and my mission is to help make your time in this apartment and in Portland both comfortable and memorable. The location is ideal for exploration of the city and the area. And it's a great launching site for college visits at Bowdoin, USM, UNE, MECA, and beyond.
Sleeping arrangements: Bedroom has a queen bed and a lockable door to the bathroom. Open living area can accommodate from 1-3 hotel-style roll-out twin beds in a group setting, with a separate entrance to the bathroom. Maximum sleeping for 5.
This neighborhood is home to people with a love for the area, the city, and their street and homes. The building is occupied by its owner on the first two floors; but two apartments, each occupying a full floor above, are available for guests of AirBNB. Respect for the residents is essential; this is not a boisterous party location but a great launching spot for exploration of the city. No pets. No smoking. No parties. No additional guests.

I'm a retired high school English teacher with an interest in travel and in making the travels of others memorable, comfortable, and secure. Portland has been my home for over nine years, so I know the city and can advise and steer you. In my spare time, I enjoy the beach, biking, long walks, the gym, cooking, wine and beer, and the many dining and social spots of town.
