The Lalamilo Beach Bungalow has been a labor of love for the owners who have taken a devoted interest in the restoration and preservation of this historic, beach-front home. The property was acquired by the grandparents of the current owners back in the 1930s when Waialea Bay was only accessible by boat. This is a rare opportunity to experience the charm of old Hawai'i while still enjoying the conveniences of modern day life in a location unsurpassed for its stunning views and beach access.
The proximity of the house to the beach make this an ideal spot to snorkel, swim, sunbathe, surf, dive and whale watch. From the kitchen, dining and living areas, you can watch children playing in the water and building sand castles on the beach. Please be aware, however, that during the winter months, if a swell comes in, the surf can be rough and the noise level high.
All three bedrooms are accessed from the front lanai which faces the ocean. The bedrooms do not have interior doors to the main living area or to each other. (For this reason, the house may not be ideal for parents of very young children). The bathroom is located in a separate structure just off the back porch. There is also a half-bath a short walk from the house up a pathway with a few stairs.
Please note: As desirable as this property may be due to it's charm and remarkable location, the Bungalow is not a hotel. We keep the property as clean and secure as possible but please understand that this home is located on the beach in a natural, tropical environment. While the house is fully screened, and we have an exterminator on call, guests may encounter insects as we do not spray insecticides rampantly the way the hotels do. If you love the sounds of the ocean and the beauty of the great outdoors, you won't find any place better! But if you prefer a climate-controlled, manicured, hotel-like environment, this may not be the place for you.
Guest will have exclusive access to the entire property including the three bedroom home with large living/dining/kitchen area and two detached bathrooms--one new, full-bath with double sinks and dual shower heads and one half-bath as well as a separate shower room right off the beach. There is also an amazing, private patio right on the beach and a large private lawn up above the beach--both with spectacular views!

HOLIDAY RATES ARE HIGHER AND SPECIAL POLICIES APPLY. 10 NIGHT MINIMUM STAY BETWEEN DECEMBER 15 thru JANUARY 6.
CONSERVATION OF UTILITIES All occupants must use due care in conserving the utilities. The water shall not be left running for an unreasonable length of time and care will be taken in turning off the lights and electrical devices. Guest may be charged for any utility cost which is over the normal and typical and average monthly bill. This would be determined by the average kilowatts used, as shown on the Hawaiian Electric bill. Please conserve utilities, excessive use of utilities could be charged to the security deposit .
DISCLOSURE OF FIRE HAZARDS & PROHIBITION AGAINST EXPLOSIVES AND OPEN FIRES. The GUEST OCCUPANT hereby acknowledges that the subject property is in a fire hazard area and that occupants must use due care in handling any and all flammable substances. Moreover, no explosives shall be allowed on the property, including without limitation, fireworks. Additionally, no open fires are permitted on the property.
OCCUPANTS agree to keep the in clean, neat, safe and in good order and pay for any damages caused by misuse or neglect. If any defect in the unit should be promptly reported to the owner's managing agent. OCCUPANTS agree to leave the unit in clean and neat condition upon vacating. The security deposit may be used to cover cleaning costs which are over and above the normal and average cleaning bill.
INSECT CONTROL- The owner retains the services of a professional pest control company for the purpose of maintaining insect control in and around the premises, on a regular basis. However, we are in the "Tropics" and insects can be resistant to complete eradication. We cannot guaranty complete control over Mother Nature's insects and will not issue any refunds due to the sighting of insects.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY The maximum number of people (including children) allowed to occupy the premises is 6 persons.
NO ALTERATIONS -You are not allowed to make any holes in the walls, floors or ceilings or use any adhesives, or like items. No rearranging of furniture. All indoor and outdoor furniture must be left in its original place.
NO DISTURBANCES, NO PARTIES, NO WEDDINGS -You are not allowed to disturb others, or keep the neighbors from enjoying their premises or any common facilities, at any time. You are not allowed to play loud music, loud instruments, or cause any type of loud or offensive sounds. No parties or weddings are allowed. Violation will be subject to forfeiture of the security deposit .
NO PETS OR ANIMALS No pets or animals are not allowed. Pets and animals include, but are not limited to birds, fish, guinea pigs, cats, rats, rabbits, mice and dogs.
NO SMOKING IN THE BUILDINGS -This is a "nonsmoking" rental. No smoking is allowed inside the unit.
