This stunning genuine tepee is nestled among oaks and ash trees surrounded by stone walls looking over field and forest. Our wood stove and raised pine floor with two twin beds will keep you cozy as you unplug and relax with a crackling fire and view We love kids and dogs! Meet our neighbors the beaver and listen to owls coyote and a riot of song birds by our forest. Snuggle with the horses, chickens cat and dog - consider this a civilized wild retreat! NOT advisable for non camping folk ;-)
Living in the round, fully surrounded by nature as you fall asleep to a babbling brook. Two twin sized beds and the option of two more mattresses as needed. Our Tepee is 18ft in diameter and so as the guests join in - the space gets filled. Please keep that in mind for larger parties and consider the second option of the tent as an addition.
THIS IS A WORKING FARM - PROJECTS AND ANIMALS AND NATURE HAPPENS...PLEASE REMEMBER THAT AND JOIN IN THE FUN!
Please bring your own sleeping bags (zero degree is your best bet just to be sure in case you do not tend the fire and it dies during colder months) or contact me for bedding with an extra charge of $35/bed for 2 beds only. You are responsible for overseeing your own fire and all relevant safety precautions. All good common sense thinking helps - boots and sturdy shoes - bug spray(I STRONGLY recommend the OFF Lantern Refills which you can get at our local Big Y supermarket or Rite Aid, we have the lantern), lighter for candles and fire - rain jacket if it's in the forecast...
Our tepee has now spent 2 years in the elements - it changes through the seasons with bird traffic and wet seasons, and it's yearly bleaching - please keep in mind that it may not be starch white, but is a solid structure and treated regularly.
Please feel free to bring tea lights and flashlights as needed.
We LOVE dogs and children!!!! This is a wonderful and private retreat space for couples or a family friendly space to just relax in nature without being surrounded by strangers while still having a house at hand for any unforeseen needs. I built it for my daughter and I to have camping without having to be in a campground filled with loud people and yet still close to civilization.
You may well wake up with our turkey neighbors about the woods or catch a glimpse of the owls, peregrine falcons, deer and other woodland creatures. We have a wood stove inside for the winter. The tepee is on a wooden platform and has area rugs. I particularly encourage long term rentals with our tepee. Meditative retreats and artists most welcome. Please remember this is an authentic tepee - there are no screens on doors, there is no electricity, and no running water or toilet as there are in houses. Our collie Mac loves guests! If you are afraid of dogs this is not the venue for you, I believe firmly in his right to be free at his home.
Please include the word CONFIRMED in your message so I know you've seen this description and read all the details. Do be sure to read up on guest access.
You have access to our bathroom if needed though I lock the house between 10pm and 7am except for emergencies. If you need a wine key or the like please just ask - we are happy to help! Wood for the wood stove inside the tepee is included in the cleaning price already. Tons of kindling around the property for you to use at will. I have a hairdryer and iron you can use, as well as recommendations for local spas and hair salons as needed ;-) Not joking. For those of you with more than two people we can arrange to have thermarests. If you prefer to set up another tent for children or the inlaws the fee per night is $20. You can eat whatever is growing in our garden and when our hens are laying you are most welcome to them! If I am home you may always come for a cup of coffee or to use my le creuset or cast iron for cooking. There are two hammocks - on our lawn or in the woods - and don't forget the beavers down the hill!
Общение с гостями
It is my assumption you are here to retreat.
I am quite happy to entertain with stories and details of the surrounding countryside. We know you will love it! But we don't make a fuss - while you will have fresh flowers and herbs for your tepee in season - we will not fuss over you and imagine that is wonderful news ;-)
Другие важные подробности
Again, please bring your own sleeping bags. We can provide bedding for an extra charge of $35/bed. Clean sheets and a clean pillow is always provided. In summer don't forget about mosquitos and always keep food out of the tepee so you avoid night visitors! It hasn't happened yet but let's keep that going ;-) Again - we have a collie as you can see in the pictures, he lives here and is a gracious host - if dogs scare you please avoid our property - this is is home and I do not want to lock him up. If you plan on inviting someone to the property they must be included as a guest regardless if they are sleeping here or not. If anyone shows up to the property without our prior agreement I will have to cancel the reservation immediately. Just as I protect my family and animals - I will also protect your privacy and thus do not allow anyone on the property unannounced.
PLEASE READ THE RULES AND RESPOND WITH THE PASSWORD TO SHOW YOU UNDERSTAND AND ARE COMFORTABLE WITH THE FOLLOWING -
Respect and honor the woodlands as a visitor.
WOODSTOVE AND FIREPIT
Understand you are responsible for yourself inside this space. That includes not touching the woodstove or fire - which is hot and not good for flesh ;-) The wood alone for a night averages $20 - and that is included in your price - a serious deal!
Don't hesitate to ask for something.
Remember to take ALL your trash with you - You are most welcome to put it in my bins as you leave :-) There is a recycling bin for paper/glass/tin/cardboard as well.
The tepee has no electricity and is for those who want/need/love off grid! But you are most welcome to charge anything in my house.
It's 70 yards from the car park over grass down hill.
Please remember we love animals visiting - but we do have our own as well! They are adorable and you will love them. This is farm life and so far everyone has loved jumping in and reveling in all the LIFE here - we hope you will too! Please advise us if you plan on bringing a dog and have it leashed upon arrival till we can be sure everyone will get along nicely. Thanks!
Our garden is planted with you in mind - we have baskets for you to harvest what you like - bring a tea pot or ask for ours to brew your own fresh mint or bee balm tea! Stew the rhubarb - pick the apples - corn, squash - sugar peas - lettuce - spinach - herbs like rosemary, dill, oregano, basil - lemon balm and so much more :-)
We take this seriously. All individuals including children must be listed as guests regardless of their intentions to sleep here. Any unannounced visitors will result in immediate cancellation of the reservation without refund at a minimum.
Any tissues garbage or otherwise left behind will result in a $50 penalty fee. This includes trash left half burned in the fire pits. My dogs and the wildlife will find stuff - and can get sick from what's left behind, particularly if it has fun odors. Dogs --- so silly!
The dog, cat, chickens and child have free run of the farm. So will yours!
If that frightens you this is not the place for you. I can promise we will not come near your tepee without a request from you, but my dog may be in the house - my child may be rambling along the stone wall digging holes and building forts...the rooster may crow - the hens will wonder if you have a treat! The seasons change the landscape and mud may occur - bugs may occur - farm projects like building the barn or burning brush will occur (though with consideration for your experience always and when possible not while you are here - certainly not in the evenings).

Hello! Bonjour - Hola - Hej, As-salam alaykom,Ni Hao!
Welcome to our wee farm. This is a lifelong dream come true for us. Having grown up on this farm and another closer to Boston, travelled the world and lived in Europe for over a decade, I've returned home to build roots here in my Great Grandfather's corn field. As a systems dynamics and sustainability professional - and farmer - I have a great deal of respect for those who walk the talk and thinking globally while acting locally.
My daughter of Danish descent is being raised as a global citizen and while I'm not quite as close to an international airport, I cultivate a life experience for both of us to understand diversity is a source of wealth and learning. And while I cannot jet about on planes visiting cultures, it's a pleasure having the world come to me.
