Nice Apartment with room for improvements
Our feedback consider the price (138 EUR/night), the professional host (rents several flats) and the high standard of the apartment (at least deluxe). Furthermore we have to say that we do not mention our points of critique during our stay so that Patrick did not have the chance to fix some of the issues.
Location is central (3-5 mins to train station) and 10 – 15 mins to beach or Palais de Festival
Apartment looks great (like on the pictures) with a modern & stylish equipment. The air condition worked well and the big balcony (with tables, chairs and sunbeds) was amazing.
The apartment offers among other things an iron / ironing-board, microwave, oven, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, fridge, cd-player and safe. We also liked the electric shutters, the provided shower gel / shampoo / soap and towels, the freshly made bed and the dishwasher (with tabs).
It means great flexibility that you can check in/out whenever you want and do not have to pay extra for early/late arrivals.
There are parking spaces directly under the building (costs extra).
A nice Bakery and big supermarket are very close.
Finally Patrick was a very sympathetic host.
We missed some equipment like a bread knife, cutting board and eggcups. There were only 3 knifes, but 4 Spoons and 5 forks.
The cleanliness could be improved (e.g. the day we arrived we found a disgusting spot on the bed linen; the closet in the kitchen (especially in the door rail) was not clean and we found dust at some places. This was very surprising because Patrick has a cleaning lady.
The bathroom looks great but trough the clear window neighbors can watch you taking a shower or sitting on the toilet (we used a towel for protection but lose the daylight…). The shower (and the flush valve in the kitchen) only offer warm (no hot) water and the water pressure in the shower is very low.
The TV is very small and we could not find any german or english program after 10 mins searching.
There is a sun umbrella which you can stick through a hole in the table on the balcony but the umbrella is neither stable nor big enough. The umbrella tipped over at least twice during every breakfast and we had to buy an additional umbrella to get enough shadow for the whole table.
Some people demolished the door of the building so that it was hard to close. Consequence was that the door was often open so that foreigners can enter the building.
Patrick did not inform us that there will be road works during our stay (although there were flyer from the city administration on the door of each affected building). We had luck that we heard the road works only on 20.06. from 9 p.m. till 1 a.m.
All in all we would definitely recommend this host and flat.
