The newly renovated studio is in a quiet little street in a family friendly house in the centre, few minutes walking to shopping and restaurants. With bright windows facing the garden, queen size bed, sofa-bed, toilet, shower and a kitchenette, so everything you need for a pleasant stay.
Please note that this is a studio - only the bathroom is separated and the rest is one space.
This is a fresh and fully renovated studio apartment with a new queen size bed, a sofa-bed and semi separate entrance. There is no separate bedroom, this is just one open space.
This is a house of three apartments, the studio included, so a very small and quiet family apartment building.
The guests access through the garden, a entrance that is rarely used by the other residents.
There are 5 children in the house at the age of 3-4-6-8 and 14 so please note that on a nice day the garden will be used by them. I can provide guests with accessories for small children like a travel bed or a high chair.
No smoking is allowed in the apartment or in the garden.
Free parking in the street.
I am available at decent hours on the third floor in my own apartment where I live with my family.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, fridge, coffee maker and a microwave. There are also some basics like tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper.
There is a hairdryer in the bathroom.
And of course there are towels, table cloths and bed linen.
The parking place on the lot is only for the 3rd floor.
We - the other residents in the house - sometimes use the entry in the back from the garden as that gives access to whole house not only the apartment.
The garden is of course open for your use as other residents in the house.
Общение с гостями
I aim to be at home and welcome my guests upon arrival. Other then that I will not be checking upon my guests but they are welcome to come and knock on my door or send me an e-mail if they need anything or have any questions.
Другие важные подробности
There is a small brochure in the apartment about all the things in the neighborhood, details on the apartment and crucial stuff about travelling in Iceland on your own. Some must-have phone numbers for emergencies and so on.
We are very close to some pick-up places for day trips, only a few minutes walk.
There will be coffee available when you arrive but if you need some basic food for the first morning like yogurt, fruits or bred just let me know.
When the family above are up and about in their apartment you will notice but it should not disturb one too much.
There is no official check in or check out time. I want my guest to enjoy their trip on their terms. Just make sure I know when you arrive and plan to leave (flight numbers are also highly appreciated).
This is a family house and a family garden so no parties or smoking on the premises. Children are most welcome and there are some toys in the garden to play with.
Open the blindfolds everyday and do not turn off the heating - heating is not so expensive so it can run even though you have the windows fully open.
Please take off your shoes when entering the apartment - this is seen as a common courtesy in Iceland :)
Please do not use the washing machine or dryer - if you really need to then contact me but please do not do so without consulting me.
I hope you will enjoy your stay.
Me and my partner Jóhann Guðbjargarson live downtown in Reykjavik with our two little boys.
We travelled quite extensively before we had the boys and have tried various overnight possibilities in a wide varity of countries. Mostly we just found a place to stay day by day or mostly a few days ahed.
Most of our travels are by train or other public transport like through Polland, Ukraine, Romania, India, China and various European countries.
We took a tourguide through Bhutan, as is required, and also when travelling with the Siberian train through Russia, Mongolia to Beijing.
We have an extra studio apartment to spare and want to offer a nice and fair accomodation in the midst of Reykjavik with our garden.
I used to be able to speek some German and Spanish but that is rather rusty nowdays.
