we appreciate every review, good or bad its pushing us forward in the right direction. I am surprised and disappointed you find it "highly commercialized" as you say, and that you felt like I don't care about guests. As you can see from other reviews, I am 100% dedicated to our guests and spend some time chatting with at least 90% of them - sometimes even too much when drinking tuak together! :)
We never intended to be "commercialized" and we put our hearts and souls in the house. Yes, I agree that Hideouts are popular and you can see them a lot on social media, and we are honored and proud to be seen as an inspirational place to travel. But that doesn't mean we don't work hard to provide the best experience for everyone. We think about the little things, ever time.. and I think that the vibe that is in Hideout is the exact reason why we have so many (repeating) guests. :)
We clearly say in our house rules that if you want a clean up - you need to ask for it, we would never intrude the privacy and just barge in and clean the house, this is not a hotel, this is Airbnb concept when you rent a villa and you take care of it on your own during your stay. We are happy to help out, just let us know. :)
Regarding food, we always have the best reviews and response from guests so far, I didn't get any negative response from you while you were staying here as well. I guess it really is a different and very personal experience for everyone, and I am sorry it didn't meet your expectations. Yes, we do have the extra portion of (whole-grain) bread (from French bakery) for rather a symbolic price. :)
