My home is a cozy house in the heart of the most artistic neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. Santa Teresa let the impression to be, at the same time, near and away from the bustle of Rio. The neighborhood, perched on the flank of the mountains, is very green and flowery. It's located at 5 minutes from the intense nightlife of Lapa, but it has its own nightlife too, a neighborhood life where residents, Cariocas, foreigners, students, artists and intellectuals meet at the bar of the corner. There are many bars and restaurants very much recognized and frequented by locals and aware tourists, especially during the traditional feijoada on the Sunday afternoon. The house is located at 2 minutes walk from Largo do Guimaraes, the heart of the district, where there are buses and taxis available at all hours of day and night. At 10 minutes walking you can also get to Gloria where the metro line can reach the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema in less than half an hour.
The house is large, cozy and comfortable. It offers a spectacular view of Guanabara Bay, downtown and the famous Sugar Loaf Mountain (Pao de Açucar). Each room offers a unique perspective, there is something for everyone! This room, called "Vistao" for its wonderful view of the Sugar Loaf, is spacious, bright and equipped with private bathroom. The house offers breakfast composed, among other things, by homemade bread, cake, juice and yogurt. Hammocks are also available for guests to enjoy the charming garden where you can observe monkeys and parrots who visit us regularly. Upon request, we provide transportation service to the airport and laundry.
For over ten years, the house welcomes artists from all around the world and all fields (visual arts, theater, cinema, architecture, etc.). The atmosphere of the house is colored by the multicultural and multidisciplinary exchanges that originate around the breakfast table.
