If you want a comfortable, clean, fully loaded Base Camp with access to peace and adventures launching from Incline Village, where the water sparkles, trees purr and mtn terrain rocks...this is it. Ease, insight, access and use of equipment is our specialty.
Price includes use of: double kayak, SUP Boards, Mtn bikes.
Inside: Fully furnished/spacious 1-bdrm apt
Outside: the peace and trails start right out your door.
A private, large 1-bedroom apt (living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom with W/D) is the downstairs (in-law unit) of your host's home. Our (1982) 2-story house is insulated and your downstairs apt is private with separate entrance, but NOT soundproof.
Note: We rent part of the upstairs also and those guests have access to the hot tub located right outside your door also. We also live upstairs and work from home in our garage studios.
The apt has a: kitchen, living room, bedroom and full bath with W/D and the (shared) hot tub is right outside your door (along with deck chair, plus a Smoker and Weber BBQ grill).
The kitchenette has a cook top, microwave, small fridge and counter-top dutch oven. Spacious 2 sink bathroom includes W/D. The Smart TV (internet) also has (minimal) cable TV access (HBO + local channels).
Sleeping accommodations: queen bed, small futon coach that unfolds into a double bed, tri-fold futon mattress (stored in closet) and the L-shaped coach in the living room can sleep 2 people. (Extra bedding located in closet in bathroom.)
The house is located 2/3 mile up from the Lake, 1/2 mile below Diamond Peak Ski Resort, 2/3 mile up from Hyatt Spa and resort, 1/2 mile from Sierra Nevada College and the Tahoe Environmental Center. It is 1 mile from the Tunnel Creek Trail to the south and the Village center to the north. To access hiking trails into the forest or down to the lake, start right out the door!
Incline Village is a resort town with less than 30% year round residents. We are located in a working, student and family neighborhood, which is one of the few in town that is over 70% occupied all year long :)
Guests have access to:
driveway parking, hot tub, and shared use of:
4 Mtn bikes
Double kayak and SUP boards (stored at the Lake on racks between Ski Beach and the Hyatt), snow shoes, sled, movies and various board/card games. Yes...this place is loaded! :)
Just to highlight the extra value you get having access to our equipment, here are some local rental prices:
Kayak rentals would be $30 an hour, $80 a day
SUP Board rentals run $20 hr or $75 a day
Mtn Bike rentals are $55 a day
Show Shoes $15 day
Beach Passes $12 per day per person
and Geotourism hosting - Priceless :)

David designs artistic Bear boxes, wildlife signs and other items that serve to raise awareness and funds for our non-profit Sustain Tahoe, so occasionally project needs may occupy (temporary) space on the driveway, but will not hinder your access adventures - which start in the backyard :)
COMMUNICATION: Please let us know who will be staying (if you book the reservation for someone else). Your review is tied to your Profile and if you are booking for someone else - we need to know.
NO SMOKING anywhere on the property. The Tahoe forest is VERY DRY and vulnerable to the slightest spark.
CONSIDERATION: While each quest space is private, the house is NOT sound-proof (or child-proof). Quiet time is from 10:00pm to 8am. FYI: Nevada casinos and bars are open 24/7- great for late night parties.
HOT TUB HYGIENE: Please bathe before using the Hot Tub, as we use minimal chemicals.
PETS: Important to clean up after your dog, as everything that falls on the ground ends up in the Lake = our drinking water.

As the founder of Sustainable Tahoe, my (Jacquie) passion is to make it easy for visitors to access the 8-wonders of Tahoe with adventures that leave no trace! Your reservation supports my ongoing efforts to facilitate a Geotourism menu of adventures for the Tahoe region. (part of why we provide equipment and Lake access to our guests).
My service is also as a Primal Designer, Corporate Story Coach and a Geotourism Guide. I work from my home studio or on the road consulting, teaching, guiding and sharing these skills. I've even helped our guests craft baskets, build sheepskin boots or learn the 5 steps to good messaging for their business presentations.
David Colley, (co-host), is a skateboard designer, imagineer and electrician. He uses his creative skills in property upkeep, helping with community needs and supporting guest adventures. His current project is creating Wildlife Corridor signs to help people remember that we are in wildlife habitat. He also works from the garage studio.
Some fun and favorite Tahoe activities include:
1. The 1-mile backyard lower loop hike to say 'good morning' to the lake
2. Swimming, SUP or kayaking anywhere along the east shore
3. Mountain biking the 'Incline Flume' Trail (that ends at the house)
4. SUP at dawn or sunset to lie on the board and feel the pulse of the water
5. X-Country Skiing or Snowshoe on Mt Rose to hand feed the Chickadees
6. Taking Bus w/bikes to Tahoe City and bike along Truckee River and then the Lake
7. Getting on the 'Wet Toes Adventure' boat to stroll along the east shore (and camp at remote beaches)
8. Rest in the backyard hammock watching wildlife
Welcome to our sacred Water!
