This newly remodeled casita has 2 bedrooms, each with comfortable queen size pillow top mattresses, and a separate bunk alcove that sleeps two extra, for a total capacity of 6.
The indoor-outdoor kitchen has the usual amenities - refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, blender, and toaster. The stove/oven is located outside under the covered palapa patio for shaded tranquility that will allow guests to create their own Mexican feast if they choose to cook at home, . Listen to the birds as you enjoy your meals outdoors under the palapa. The backyard is a lush tropical garden with privacy wall surrounding. Hammocks swing under the palapa with ceiling fans to keep you cool.
The casita has stereo, internet, and A/C in the bedrooms and an energy efficient solar water heater that provides plenty of hot water for showers. The water system is gravity feed from the water storage tanks on the roof, filled by the municipal water department. The tap water is treated, but a drinking water dispenser is located in the dining room. This property is in a very safe and friendly neighborhood.
Our charming casita is a leisurely 15 minute walk or $2 US cab ride to the downtown beach. This is a great place for a family or group who want an affordable and comfortable place close to the ocean. There are 2 bikes available for your use at the casita. A great way to experience a slice of real Mexico - close to locals, dining and shopping. You can purchase almost anything you might want within a short walk from your front door.

The property is managed by our bilingual American property representative. She will provide you with your key and can assist you with any needs or questions about available local activities you may want to experience during your stay. If you require medications or need minor medical assistance, our property manager is also a registered nurse and has a Pharmacy at her hotel, Caballo Blanco.

There are two fully equipped clinics in town. One is a private clinic, Costa Med, and is located in the casitas. The other is a government clinic located in town. Medical service fees are very reasonable in Mexico. The main hospital is in Chetumal, should you need additional medical assistance, it is approximately 1 hr and 45 min drive. Both the private clinic, Costa Med, and the Government Clinic have ambulances.
Mahahual is a beautiful and growing destination. Relax and have a great stay! There's endless possibilities for excursions and sightseeing - adventures await! The property is located close to taxis and the bus stop, so guests do not need to rent a car from Cancun if they choose not to. Information regarding bus schedules is available. There is an extensive guide on how to's at the casita, and available online, ensuring you'll have a fantastic stay.

We do not allow smoking in the home, we also ask that if you do smoke outside to please be very careful under the palapa.
We are a professional working couple that love to travel and love the sun! Finding our piece of paradise in Mahahual was the start of our newest adventure. Our casita has made it possible to be part of this beautiful Caribbean village and it's warm and friendly people.
We love to swim and snorkel and you will find no better location than Mahahual located on the Costa Maya. The second largest coral biosphere Banco Chinchoro is located 30 km of the shore. A diversity of marine life waiting to be explored whether your a diver, snorkeler or just a visitor by boat. If you just want a beach experience there are miles of beach. In town the beach is protected by an inner reef where the water is calm, clear and warm. Swim a few strokes and your dazzled by the many brightly coloured tropical fish all the while your margarita is chilling at your beach chair!
Loving to cook is my passion and learning the flavors of other cultures is a wonderful experience. Our casita is equipped with an lovely outdoor kitchen under a covered palapa. Providing the diners a truly tropical experience from your own private backyard.
Paula is an Registered nurse and an accomplished mosaic artist as you will tell upon arriving at our casita. She is always on the look out for coloured tile, coloured glass and unique stones whether on the beach or along the road side. A unique form of recycling with an artistic twist!
I am avid photographer and the delights at the many tropical birds and those that make the long journey south is a joy to photograph. The sounds and colours of the birds in the early morning are a wonderful natural wake up call.
We love the fact that our community is becoming well known on the global entertainment scene for it's wonderful festival. The festival is called Cruzando Fronteras or Crossing Borders. Talent comes to town from as far away as Italy, Canada, USA and of course Mexico. The spirit is amazing the music is first class and open to young and old.
