Staying at Chiravadees place was a bit different than we thought. We had hoped to stay with a family and take part in some of the family life, but that was not the case. We had the whole house to ourselves, and our host came down from bangkok just to make us welcome and arrange our stay. She ordered coffe and breakfast to be delivered to our door each morning, and bought fresh crabs and prepared for us. She ordered a nice lady to come and cleen after us every second day. She showed me how to drive her motorcycle with gears and was generally very helpful and welcoming.
The house is very simple. The bathroom there has a proper toilet, but basicaly nothing else. No shower, no sink, no mirror. There is water, so there is a nice cold way to splash yourself wich worked for us. :) and to be fair, bathroom is not ticked of at the listing. So I was warned.
The kitchen however is promised, and i would not call a fridge and a microwave a kitchen to be honest. There was some plates, cups and such, and one electroheated pan/pot to cook in. It was enough for us, we mostly where eating out, but if you like to cook, this is not good enough.
The beds are ok, almost no mosquitoes and the room ok. Quite rustic. But we don't know how the listed bedroom looks like, a bigger room was prepared for us, since we came with the kids.
The house was right by the road, but not too much traffic. But we couldn't let the kids play freely in the garden, the road was too near. A nice walk trough the jungle to get to the beach, and a short way to the village. Next time we stay in ko jum we will probably stay at the beach though.
All inn all. An interesting experience. :D
