I'll be happy to socialise with you when we are both at home, (if you would like too, of course). I can give advice on things to do, places to go (URL HIDDEN) totally up to you but I will also leave my guests to it and provide a home-from-home to all.
There are several cafes, restaurants and bars overlooking the beautiful royal harbour and some lovely independent shops. Ramsgate is well known for its splendid architecture, the Ramsgate Tunnels, sandy beaches and colour. I highly recommend walking along the beaches towards Broadstairs on a sunny day with a stop for some delicious fish and chips before a tasty ice cream from famous Morelli's Gelato parlour. Yum.
Trendy Margate is also not far away either, with the Turner Contemporary a nationally recognised contemporary art gallery and social space situated along the sea front with stunning views. Dreamland (a historic theme park) is now open after a complete renovation in June 2015. It operates the worlds oldest wooden ride - the scenic railway which has undergone major restoration works. Definitely a fun day out for all the family! Margate Old Town is the place to be for your vintage clothes shopping fix, retro furniture finds and artistic needs. There are some great bars and cafes here too to stop for a drink and plenty of award winning places to eat.
The city of Canterbury is around a 25 minute drive and within is the beautiful Cathedral. It is home to Kings School, impressive architecture and cobbled streets, as well as lots of clothes shops. The river Stour runs through the ancient city, which makes a lovely riverside walk or relaxing drink by the water. Restaurants here are a plenty, I'll be able to provide you with lots of recommendations.
Further afield is the beautiful Kent countryside, the Garden of England as we like to call it. Exploring by car makes a very pleasant day out.
There is a great bus service running every 6-10 minutes from various stops to other towns in Thanet (Broadstairs, Margate, Cliftonville, Birchington) and a superb high speed rail link to London St Pancras - 1 hr 17 mins from Ramsgate, and just under an hour from Margate. You can get to Canterbury in 20 mins by rail too, as well as Herne Bay, Deal, Walmer, Dover.
Walking is the best way to experience what delights Ramsgate itself has to offer, especially in the summer months where a stroll to Broadstairs is a popular jaunt along our beautiful coast line.
Please note, the bed is a petite double and therefore not hugely spacious, although couples have slept comfortably in it. I will advise upon booking about the suitability.
