Typical stone-wood made Skyrian traditional house in the heart of the old town, next to the acropolis and Byzantine castle/monastery. Not far from cafes-shops, it has internet, parking 200m away, nice yard, great views 20m away and very quiet...

Dear guests, I am an academic, university lecturer, educated in anthropology and I have been also working in my family real estate business the last 10 years. I speak English and Greek and I will try to give you an enchanted perspective of the island once you are here. I will try to make you feel at home as I am also a good traveller and I know what it takes to get to a new country for vacation or work...But I will also let you enjoy fully your stay and I will be threre for anything you need.
This is the island where Giorgos Seferis spend his vacation: "I don’t know much about houses, i remember their joy and their sorrow, sometimes, when I stop to think" (Thrush). It is also the island where English poet Rupert Brooke passed away and was buried: "Wind, sun, and earth remain, the birds sing still, When we are old, are old. . . ." "And when we die. All's over that is ours; and life burns on, Through other lovers, other lips," said I,-- "Heart of my heart, our heaven is now, is won!" (The Hill).
Skyros is the only island in the Aegean sea with a square dedicated to eternal poetry, which locals call Brooke square. The old town with its numerous Byzantine chapels, noble castle houses and little streets facing the East sea is so unique, it will take your breath away.
Throughout my work on the island, I have seen hundreds of houses that people rent or sell and I have made a conscious selection of renting some of the best properties available. My criteria are based on the location of each property, the view, the architecture and the style, the comfort and finally the neighborhood. The properties are located in the old town as I believe Skyros with its cultural and easthetical forms is materialized in "Hora", the village, where 80% of the inhabitants of the island live and where most of the shops and restaurants are located. If you want to feel the rhythm of the island, its slow pace under the shadow of the hot summer sun, the Skyrian neighborhood life that unfolds in the open with the old women who greet you as you walk up towards your rental and the sun burned faces of shepherds who wont bother to talk to you unless you stay on the island for years, this is the place to spend your vacations. Once you stay in Hora and especially in the old town facing the East where each morning the horizon transforms into a miracle of colors accross the horizon and the deep blue sea, you will be mesmerized and you will feel why for thousands of years people have been living in the exact same location. The top of the rock of Skyros...
