Well! What an adventure this turned out to be! Elsa and Jamie were there to answer our questions from the moment we landed, giving us directions, rides and everything we needed.. but not after some confusion.
About the listing:
We didn't actually get to see this studio because we were under the impression that the apartment had wifi internet (which we needed to figure out our plans in Cancun, because this was one of those spontaneous trips!). We also didn't know it was part of a resort but from our visit to Cancun we've understood that people own condos in resorts. However, the studio in the listing is in the 'local' neighborhood, away from Hotel Row, which is what we were looking for. Its also close (5 min) to the local Isla Mujeres ferry which is WAY better an experience than Ultamar, so big plus if you want to experience Cancun the local way!
About our host(s):
Jamie was kind enough to understand our need for wifi and accommodate us elsewhere, including giving us a ride to the place and making sure we were settled. Afterwards too, Jamie made time to take us (sometimes for a small fee) to places we wanted to visit because we didn't rent a car. Elsa was wonderful and taught us to ride the colectivo and the bus as well.
About the experience:
What started out with a ton of confusion ended up becoming a reason we now have good friends in Cancun! We can't thank Jamie and Elsa, and Jamie's friend Alejandra for hosting us with such warmth and hospitality.
