My family has been coming to Playa Hermosa since 2004 and this has been our private home there since 2008. We chose it because it has both spectacular views and is right above the beach. So many view properties are actually far from the water, but we walk down the hill every morning for an early beach walk. (Some people prefer to take their cars, but either way you are right there. I like to walk.) Our original plan was to build our own house, but we love this place so much, we found it wasn't necessary.
This is a small condo complex, only 19 units, and except for holidays, usually less than half are occupied. When you don't want to go to the beach, two solar heated pools, one for relaxing and one more for exercise or games, are nearby in the complex. Parking is on the same level as the condo (one step up and one down), so bringing in groceries is easy. The property is fenced with 24 hour guards, so you never have to worry about your security.
Please note that we are registered with the Costa Rican government and pay a 13% hospitality tax (already included in the listed rate). Not all hosts comply with the law but if you stay with us, you can be assured of a legally-registered property, contributing to the improvement of Costa Rica.
You will have a key to the entire condo, except for an owner's closet. The kitchen is fully supplied with dishes and glasses, microwave, toaster and toaster oven, blender, etc. as well as a basic supplies to get you started when you arrive. We have a US phone in the condo so calls throughout the US are unlimited and free. The tap water is safe to drink, here and throughout most of Costa Rica.

A wonderful US couple, Lisa and Wes, live just down the street and their business takes care of the condo for me. They are on call to take care of any problems, can direct you to tours and activities, arrange maid service or advise you, and will make your visit happy as can be. If you come in for 6 days or more and don't arrive late at night, someone will meet you, help you get a few groceries, then take you to the condo and show you around. This service is available for an additional charge for shorter visits.
I am always available by email or phone should a problem arise that they can't solve.

In Hermosa: all water activites, fishing, sailing, jet ski, swimming, diving, beach relaxation, beach massages, restaurants, music, then, nearby in Coco add nightclubs, shopping and a hundred or more restaurants. Within an hour, tubing, ziplines, horseback riding, nature tours, volcanoes, national parks for hiking, animal and bird watching, quad biking, tropical forests (in wet season).
You will never be short of things to do. Look up Tico Tours Guanacaste for a list of guided day trips to get a sense of the range of things available.
This is our home. Please treat it with care. Condo rules also require quiet after 10 pm and prohibit large parties or social events. Sorry, but we do NOT allow smoking or pets. Check out time is 10 am, so please plan accordingly. And thank you for being safe.
Please note that the national water monopoly that provides water to our condo (and all of the country) has had problems with its infrastructure. We have our own large storage tanks, but please be very frugal in your water usage and notify our property managers at the Zindis Group immediately if you have a problem.
The renting corporation, which owns the condo is called Villa Cadiz Mariners Point Lam Diesiseis, Ltda, and any liability for accidents or defects not covered by AirBNB must be claimed in Costa Rica against that company. The guests hereby waives any right to make claims against Alan Shusterman or any other partnership or business entity in any jurisdiction worldwide.
