I stayed at Edward's place for two weeks while I was finishing an internship at Boston Children's Hospital.
Overall, it worked out great and I was very pleased with the arrangements. It's simple, but clean, and had everything I needed, including a full kitchen, iron and ironing board, and laundry.
I found the neighborhood to be very safe. It seems most other residents in the neighborhood are families with kids. In fact, there is a playground almost right across the street and a big park just a couple blocks over. I felt safe walking around, even at night.
You should know that Edward's house is basically a mini-hostel. Rooms throughout the house are dedicated to other Airbnb guests, but I found this to be one of the better parts of my stay. I had the pleasure of meeting guests from Australia, Poland, Sweden, China, and throughout the US, and had great conversations with many of them! All were respectful, mostly young professionals like myself here for conferences at Harvard or working in a research lab.
Though a single bathroom on each floor is shared among the guests, there is more than one bathroom in the house that can be used, and only once over my two weeks did I have to wait to use an available bathroom.
The walls are thin, so you could hear your neighbor if he or she were particularly noisy, BUT this was never an issue for me. All guests were courteous of each other.
I would stay here again, and I would recommend Edward's place to others. More than anything, I'd say it's a great value. Nothing fancy, but it's a safe, comfortable place to stay.
