I stayed on the top (4th) floor of SPLIT CENTRAL GUESTHOUSE for almost six weeks. It was perfectly located just a minute or two from the Riva, bars and restaurants. Another two minutes of walking and you were in the historical center of the city with the two-thousand year-old Diocletian's palace. Five stars for location. The host, Lidija also earns five stars. She was kind, helpful and always there when you needed her. The room itself (fourth floor) was perfect for one person, small but all-inclusive. Wireless internet, desk/dining table, simple bed, shower, small refrigerator, stove, basic kitchen utensils/pots/pans, washing machine, small balcony to hang clothes. The other rooms (one room on each of the first, second and third floors) seemed to also have wireless internet, a larger, 2-person bed, and a private bathroom, with access to the fourth floor kitchen, washing machine, etc when it isn't occupied. A few small downsides about the 4th floor space: 1) being right under the roof during the summer gets hot, (though there was a powerful AC unit which more than made up for this) 2) the shower is over the toilet in the small bathroom area, but wiping everything down with a sponge after each shower (3 minutes' work) solved that issue, and 3) I was unfortunate for the first week or two in that the previous guest smoked and it took a while to get the smell out. Other than that, great place, highly recommended.
