Absolutely NO SMOKING/smokers. Thanks, the non smoking guests who follow you appreciate it :-) Our guests count on there being no allergens here so please respect that. As someone who has been a guest before, I hate to book a place that advertises that it is a non smoking home, only to find it reaks of the smoke of the last guest. Please respect this policy for the sake of those who follow you. Please don't ask for exceptions to be made. So sorry for you nice, rule following smokers :-( but I have had others who saw my "no smoking" rule and just disregarded it so I had to change it to No Smokers.
Only those who are booking for one or two people can use instant booking. Those who wish to bring another guest please check with me first. There is only one bed in the apt, and no couch.
We don't charge a cleaning fee because we want for you to leave the apt as you found it although you can leave the bed unmade as we will strip the bedding anyways after you leave. Wash and put away dishes, counter, sinks, stove, and clean up any other obvious messes. We will take out the trash if you are only with us for a night or two. Others please take out the trash... Grey can for trash, Blue one by the house is for recycling... paper, plastic, cardboard, metal cans, aluminum.

Scott and I live upstairs from the basement apt. The tree house apt is a separate building. Scott is a marriage and family therapist, NPR radio music show host, musician, poet, writer, concert host. Our mother in law house on Cherry St. is right behind his office which is a little grey house. This year we added one more property which is a block away from the River Park. I am an artist and teach adult painting in Tulsa and work with the Arts and Humanities Council as an artist in the schools and have an art residency at the hospital and also teach adult oil painting. Both Scott and I are writers, me with two how-to books on painting and one children's book on foraging and Scott, as of August 2014 is a published author with his book of poetry and lyrics called These Stones. We have books and paintings available for purchase in each property, If it is on the wall and signed by me... it can be purchased. For a full gallery check my website by googling my name, Margaret Aycock.
We open our home to traveling musicians around twice a month and give them an opportunity to share their gifts with our house concert guests and hopefully send them on their way with a good meal, a good night's sleep and pockets full of gas money. If you are fortunate enough to book our place on one of those nights please let us know if you would like to join us. houseco is where you can check out the schedule for those events.
We are both outdoorsy people who both grew up in farm country with a river in the back yard, mine in the Catskill Mountains and Scott in the Mississippi Delta. We have attempted to duplicate some of our childhood surroundings in the back yard with a water garden, flower gardens and a huge organic veggie garden.
We love reading ( Scott was an English Lit major in college), going to great movies, catching free concerts at the Guthrie Green and visiting our favorite restaurants, and of course, hiking around in the wild places in Oklahoma.
We love our neighborhood and city and if we have the time and you would like to, we are free to share our favorite spots with you... places to eat, hidden treasures, outdoor and indoor activities. Just ask.
We try to be the best hosts we can be and welcome your five star reviews. Our happiest guests are those who fully read about our little get aways so they know exactly what to expect, and what not to expect. If there is anything we need to do that we have overlooked please inform us so that we can make your stay a five star stay. We know our little places are not like staying at a fancy hotel but what we have to offer is a warm, home like feel, with welcoming hosts who care about your comfort and enjoyment of our city.
