Enjoy the rich diversity & artistry of historic Santa Fe coupled with your own charming and private bedroom suite. Your beautifully appointed and comfortable space is in a 50s-style neighborhood, minutes from the Plaza, museums, galleries, and more!
Your private entrance will draw you into a large, light-filled sitting room. This beautiful and comfortable space includes a small, flat screen HD Directv with HBO, and free Wifi throughout. There is a "kitchenette" with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, Foreman grill, hot plate, pots and pans, dishes, and flatware. There is washer/dryer that is shared with the host.
There is also a 1/2 bath with a supply of thick, soft towels and toiletries and a queen-sized bedroom. Enjoy your serenity in your private bedroom separated by a door from the sitting room.
You can relax with your morning coffee on your adjoining east-facing patio in a completely enclosed and secure adobe-walled back yard or in your suite. There is a small table and chairs in your sitting room also. The two rooms that make up your suite total 396 sq. feet, including your half bath.
From your bedroom, through one door, you enter into the home's kitchen. To use the full bath, you go through the kitchen, into the living room, then down a short hall.
You are afforded the luxury of separate controls for both air and heat in your suite of rooms. In addition to the queen bed in the bedroom, there is additional sleeping space for one (preferably small) person.
Speaking of small persons, if you wish to include your baby/toddler in your stay, you are offered a complimentary pack 'n play, rocking chair, high chair and changing table for your little one for no extra charge. You will need to do the disassembly, assembly, and moving of the furniture from another room, however, since my back prevents me from lifting.
I have envisioned and set up the suite to be essentially self-contained. Except for needing to come into my part of the house in order to bathe or shower, I think that you will be able to meet your needs within the suite, as well as the patio in the back and the other outdoor spaces. I absolutely value your privacy and will never enter your suite without prior permission from you.
While there is not an actual kitchen in your suite, I have set up the suite with nearly every small appliance needed for guests to function....more than most hotel rooms/suites offer.
If you are really wanting a home, with a full kitchen and all the other amenities, my suite may not be your best choice.
I am an accommodating person, who has done my best to ensure that the suite is beyond comfortable and welcoming to guests. I truly enjoy getting to know my guests and have made strong friendships as a result.
Next to your private suite, through one door into the main residence's kitchen, you have access to a full bath, filled with the lovely morning light that accompanies its eastern location. The full bath is just beyond the kitchen/dining area, through the living room, down the bedroom hallway.
Please be aware that "the kitchenette" in your sitting room is only a makeshift kitchen. You can make coffee, heat up food, and cook simple meals on the hotplate or grill or in the toaster oven. If you really enjoy cooking and want to do more significant cooking for something very special, please make arrangements with me ahead of time. If we agree on it, please leave the kitchen as clean as you found it!
If you are accompanied by a vehicle, there is ample parking on the street in front.

Depending on your interest, your schedule, and my schedule, we can connect and talk if/when our paths cross. You are respectfully offered total privacy if that is your preference. I will be happy to give you the best of both worlds.....privacy AND communication via emails and texts!
The only exception is that I will need to arrange with you to use the washer and dryer located in your sitting room once or twice a week, and I will agree to use it during a convenient time for both of us. If you expect to be gone for two hours or more, please hang the sign on my side of the kitchen door that says, "Please make up room." Then I will know I have your permission to enter your suite. Otherwise, I will not enter your suite unless there is a near emergency. I will always knock before entering.
Typically I like to spend quiet mornings reading, catching up on emails, making phone calls, etc. I eat my first meal anywhere from 9 am to 11 am, and I usually like to shower around the same time. My schedule does vary a lot, so when you want to have a bath or shower, please go ahead. I leave the door all the way open when not in use, so that is how you'll know when it's available. You may shower or bathe any time, day or night. Even if I am asleep or resting, it will not bother me, I promise!
I'm often out and about beginning midday until evening, though I'm in and out some days because of my home's central location.

I have a sweet Lhasa Apso dog, who is eight years old and very friendly unless you prefer him not to be. Since Lhasa's have hair, not fur, he is described as "hypoallergenic." He is mellow most of the time, the exception being if he discovers something unexpected on one his surveys of the back yard. He "re-mellows" quickly when re-directed. When not in the back or napping, he tends to study the comings and goings in the front of the house. He is therefore an effective guard dog, although his skills are gratefully underused. If complete peace and quiet must be ensured, your host is happy to enlist his effective "bark collar." Although he is very friendly, he will remain away from your suite, unless otherwise invited in.
You are welcome to let Tashi in or out through your door to the back patio and yard. Since it is completely enclosed, he is safe there. The one exception is in the event of a thunderstorm, he is happiest in the house. If he is in the back yard, he will try to dig under the fences to the front yard in an effort to make the noise stop. PLEASE, however, never let him out through the front. He will run straight into the street!
Quiet hours begin at 9 pm and end at 8 am. The one exception, however, is that you may shower at any time, day or night. I have headphones for my television in the living room. PLEASE let me know if the volume ever bothers you, and I will gladly use the headphones.
I am a retired School Psychologist. I was born in Kansas, grew up in Michigan. When I married, I moved to Maui where I had two sons, raised them and worked in education. I moved to Santa Fe in 2001. My sons live in Denver and I have three granddaughters! I love living in Santa Fe and am very interested in art, music, crafts, health and wellness, and travel. Europe is usually my destination of choice, particularly France. When I travel, I like to feel as though I live there and am not simply a visitor. I would like to offer the same experience as a host.
