It would be perfect for a couple looking to spend time in a fantastic and lesser-known part of the city. It's on Beaubien, in Little Italy. And it's surrounded by cool shops, restaurants and cafes! It's clean and - I like to think? - well decorated!

Joel and his friends were always available for communication - very easy to deal with them! Very friendly. The location is great, close to cool bars, restaurants, shops etc. Probably the best eggs natasha I have every had right down the street too (Le Vieux Vélo). Simple apartment but really good value for your money.
I had a great stay at Joel's place! The location was perfect. Cool area (away from other tourists) with great bars & restaurants. Walking distance to Mont Royal and Marche Jean Talon with a bunch of great shops and cafes to stop into on the way. I booked very last minute and Joel was very accommodating with check in/out times. Also, the friends he had hand off keys to me were super nice and helpful! I got a lot of great tips about the neighborhood. The apartment is simple but has everything you need. (Just note that there is no wifi. Which isn't so bad for the price.) I would certainly stay here again!
Thanks Joel for hosting me on my visit! I lived in Montreal for years and was coming back to visit with a friend, specifically looking to stay in this area. The place looked like the photographs, but it wasn't as clean as I'd expected/compared with other airbnbs I've stayed in — there was a strong musty smell — cigarette butts still left in ashtray on table — and definitely hadn't been swept in a while; I stepped on some glass shards in the bathroom and cut my foot. The garbage was full when we got there and there were dirty utensils in the sink. It's not a 2 bedroom, as it says in the listing — just one. The shower/tub doesn't drain, so between my friend and I only one of us would take a shower each morning. (& It was not advertised as having wifi, but just note that there is no wifi.) I loved being close to Mile End/Outremont, but it was too expensive for the state it was in... I think Joel's new to airbnb — with some improvements, it could be a great place to stay!
