Другие важные подробности
This is our family building and is quiet, safe and a private residence. We have been in this neighborhood for 5 generations and are glad to share our intimate knowledge of New York with you to make your stay very special and tailored to your needs.
We want to help familiarize you with our apartment layout (typical in many brownstones) to help you better plan your sleeping arrangements and make sure the apartment works well for you. The entrance to the apartment is into the living room. At the back of the apartment (the garden overlook) is the bathroom & kitchen followed by the living room. Then there is a large walk-in closet separating the bedroom from the living room. Following the walk-in closet is the master bedroom (king sized bed) with the second bedroom (queen sized bed) off of it. So you enter the second bedroom from the master bedroom.
Please treat the apartment as if it were your own, and leave it as close as possible to as you find it. This building is ideal for guests who value a quiet, private and serene environment. If you are coming to enjoy NYC, great. If you coming here to throw a party, we are not a match.
We take great pride in helping you to have an oasis to rest in after a long day enjoying the many things New York City has to offer. These rules, or as we like to call them, tender commandants, are designed to help you know what you can expect from us and your neighbors as well as what we can expect from you.
Please be quiet and respectful both within and without the apartment. We consider 10pm to 7am (11pm to 9am weekends) quiet time in the building. That simply means you can enjoy your TV, music and conversation in a quiet and respectful manner. No running or heavy walking either.
Only registered guests are welcome in the apartment, please.
Sorry no smoking and no pets.
Someone will always be contactable and close by. This is a family building and we are always a few minutes away when necessary.
We are a shoes free house. It feels better, for us at home, to know that we are not bringing the streets of NYC, into our peaceful oasis of calm. That's our preference and suggestion; it's not mandatory.
Communication helps make the process of hosting and renting much more satisfying. More is better and ask rather than assume. We strongly prefer to greet you when you arrive so it's best that we both keep in contact during your travel process to avoid unnecessary hours of waiting for your arrival. Flights get cancelled or delayed. Let us (or any host) know your flight details, so we can follow your flight's progress and have the best data to estimate your ETA. Let us know when you have landed or are leaving the airport. This applies if you are arriving by “Planes, Trains & Automobiles" (c1987).
Likewise, once you're in and settled, no need to call or text, unless you have a question or need something.
Trash: While our neighborhood is considered to be one of the best for top restaurants of every type, you may want to enjoy a home cooked meal. If you are eating at home, please do not leave food out and take out the trash as often as possible. That is for both the courtesy of your next guest, and to keep the place meticulous for everyone's enjoyment. There are recycling bins in front of the building. NYC regulations mandate recycling and it is an easy way to be kind to the environment. We get pretty steep fine if the recycling items goes in the wrong bin. Like all other requests of ours, this is on the honor system.
Keys: The front door to the building, is a single key, as is the door to your apartment, please don't lose them. We can give you up to two sets of keys.
Check-in and checkout times: check-in is 4:00 PM. Check out is 10:00 AM. This gives us minimal time to organize the place and get it in perfect shape the next guest. In the event that you need to past checkout or arrive prior to check-in, and we are able to accommodate you, by all means we will. This is always best discussed as far in advance as possible so everyone is prepared.
We can likely store your luggage if you wish to drop it off earlier, or hold it for a short period if you wish to leave later. This must be organized in advance. Late arrives are fine but if it will be after 10pm we must plan for it in advance.
How many are in your party? Please let us know when advance. Please do not say that you're one, and show up with a guest. Or say that you are two, then arrive at the door with your extended family, friends or adult children who, by the way, because it's so late would we mind if they stayed? We do. This is a rule for this industry generally and assuredly an upset to many hosts including us. If you wish to arrange something like that advance, we are glad to discuss it with you but only in advance. We strongly prefer to know the names of all guests prior to your arrival as well as the reason you are coming so we can be better prepared.
Welcome to our wonderful Brooklyn and amazing NYC! Come and have a great time. Should you stay with us, we will do our best to facilitate the best stay possible for you. You will not receive our laser focused treatment from any hotel. We have yet to have a guest, paying or free, who did not love the apartment.
5th generation family from the neighborhood who knows and loves the area and NYC! I am a husband and proud father of four precious children.
We love the outdoors and do many long family driving trips in the USA to camp, fish and sight-see.
We have had the chance to travel all over the world serving others in need (what many call humanitarian work)....what an amazing world with such wonderful people.
