What?! An actual B&B on AirBNB?! It's true folks - if you're looking for experienced hosts with nearly 45 combined years in the service industry, award winning breakfasts (national runner up in a breakfast competition!), and wine and hors d'oeuvres every day all included, then this is for you. If you'd rather make your own beds, cook your same boring toast, and fend for yourself, that's okay too but that's not what you'll get here!
Oy! Who needs doilies, baby dolls, and fake flowers? Not us and we don't think you do either. We've completely renovated all 4,000 square feet and all 5 guestrooms. Now they're much calmer, more relaxing, and luxurious...and way more appealing to today's traveler instead of your great-aunt.
Think of it like a hotel but cooler and more personalized. Hotels don't let you into other people's rooms, their kitchens, or their private offices. It's pretty much the same thing here. Oh, and we have our own quarters completely separate from the rest of the house, so just like at a hotel, you won't risk being weirded out by seeing us in our pj's!
Общение с гостями
We are proud that we're able to lead the next generation of bed and breakfasts and one of the ways we do that is with our unique service - intuitive, personalized, and professional yet unobtrusive. We're there when you need us, not when you don't.
Другие важные подробности
Let us know when you're going to be here - we don't have a check in time and we want to make sure that we're here to get you settled in. Also, if there are any dietary restrictions, allergies, or sensitivities just let us know that and we'll be happy to work around them!
For the comfort and enjoyment of all of our guests, pets and children under the age of 12 are not allowed. Per state regulations, smoking is not allowed indoors or within 15 feet of any entrance or window. And of course, due to fire ordinance and your own safety, occupancy limits are strictly enforced.

We are the sixth owners of the Aldrich Guest House, which was one of the first Galena homes converted to a Bed and Breakfast in 1984. We both grew up in the Midwest - Douglas in Rushville, Indiana and Robert in Monroe, Michigan. College and employment brought both of us to Chicago in 2003. After being partnered for 5 years we were married in February of 2012 with the legalization of equal marriage in Illinois.
In 2010, both of us shifted our customer service careers to hospitality, a field we were both interested in for some time, and quickly became passionate about - Douglas at Westin Michigan Avenue and Robert at W Lakeshore then Trump International Hotel and Tower Chicago. Shortly after, we began making plans for our own bed and breakfast which we planned to open in Chicago until we fell in love with Galena. Coming to Galena was like coming home for us, with the perfect mix of the rural life we enjoyed growing up and the city life we grew to love in Chicago.
We are very excited to make Galena our home, where the friendliness of the locals creates such a welcoming community feel throughout the city. We are honored to share and curate a beautiful piece of history that is Aldrich Guest House. We fully believe in the idea that at Aldrich Guest House, you arrive as guests, and leave as friends. It's the Galena way!
