Port Melbourne is uber cool inner bayside Melbourne. It’s perfect for this large, light filled warehouse style home with a New York loft feel but with a distinctly rustic Australian twist. There’s the quirky corrugated iron shower, the bush barn doors and the displayed Aussie beach gear. Queen Master Bedroom + bathroom, King Bedroom + single bed & Ensuite, Queen bed Studio + Bathroom, Media Room + double sofa bed. Three Bathrooms! Well equipped kitchen, Huge vaulted living room. Courtyard + BBQ.

Located in Stokes Street, this eclectic home sits in the heart of popular Port Melbourne with its many shops, cafes, restaurants, beaches and the old port precinct that’s now a busy ferry terminal. Port Melbourne is famous for having a pub on nearly corner and there are seven great ones well within staggering distance. Parks, playgrounds and walking paths surround. Public transport is nearby. Parking is right out front. Everything is convenient, close and at hand.

The house is a large, light filled, rustic wrehouse style home with first floor height exposed brick walls, massive recycled timber beams, cavernous ceilings and a central staircase with vaulted fly over landing. Architecturally it’s bold and different being filled with a quirky collection of objects and artwork that gives the chic New York loft feel but with a distinctive Australian take and twist.

The house features extensive use of recycled and repurposed building materials which provides a natural, relaxed, homely feel. Original timber doors, gates and windows feature throughout. The timber beams are reused from an old bridge. Gone is garish glitz and glam.

The home has four large bedrooms that can comfortably sleep up to nine guests. Non allergenic pillows, soft luxurious organic / bamboo cotton sheets and hotel quality towels are provided throughout. Complimentary natural toiletries and hairdryers are supplied.

The queen Master Bedroom, located upstairs, has an expansive north facing feature arched window, antique wardrobe, its own bathroom with quirky Aussie water tank like corrugated iron shower, a deep claw leg luxury bath, a vanity table and chairs.

Bedroom Two, also upstairs, is a street facing king bedroom with tree canopy outlook. It has a king bed, second single bed/couch, its own ensuite, antique wardrobe and chair.

The Studio, with queen bed and striking garden outlook is an ideal peaceful get away located off the courtyard and separate from the house. It has its own indoor-outdoor ensuite with skylight roof and internal cascading grape vines. Original collectables decorate these generous spaces.

The Media Room has a large Smart TV with Netflix. The room can be used as a fourth bedroom with its double sofa bed. This room has a distinctive nautical feel suitable for Port Melbourne with artworks and displayed Australian beach essentials. Books, games, puzzles and interesting collected objects fill the room.

Adjacent and located under the stairs is a handy laundry complete with washing machine and dryer. A drying rack, ironing board and iron is provided with a washing line in the rear courtyard.

There is no shortage of bathroom amenities for a large household with four toilets, four basins, three showers and a bath all served by continuous hot water.
The kitchen is well equipped with all the needed appliances and implements for cooking pleasure. A well-stocked pantry makes preparing meals easy. The central island bench makes for food preparation ease and a place to sit around and chat whilst cooking.

Whether it is entertaining or larger scale dining the house has generous indoor and outdoor dining options.

The meals and living room look out on the courtyard garden with large glass rear doors that enable the delightful bay breezes to gently waft in.

The spacious rear living room and meals areas sits under an expansive vaulted ceiling with feature timber beams. Nothing is small and understated in this large, light filled cavernous living space.

The lounge area has a comfortable couch and two armchairs with coffee tables. A large screen Smart TV with Netflix is provided for guest’s enjoyment.

Порт Мельбурна, Виктория, Австралия

Port Melbourne is located in inner city bayside Melbourne. It has the enviable reputation of being one of Australia’s most desirable and hip places to live. The area is currently undergoing intense urban renewal with fancy high-rise apartments, cool converted warehouses many renovated and restyled weatherboard cottages. It has a wide mix of architecture.

Port Melbourne’s heritage is as a port and industrial area. Port Melbourne with its heavy drinking wharfie past had a reputation for having a pub on almost every corner. Many still remain and today are well worth a visit more for their food than beer. There are still seven great pubs well within staggering distance.

The essence of Port Melbourne is its location on Port Phillip Bay and the nearby Port Melbourne Beach. Cafes and restaurants dot the foreshore along Beach Street overlooking the bay. A visit there and particularly the Spirit Station Pier and the Tasmania – Melbourne Ferry Terminal is a must. The adjacent popular Port Melbourne beach is a great place to for some serious sand-time, open-water swimming, beach sports or just sun baking. It’s a perfect spot for children and dogs. Make sure to walk out on one of the many piers and take a panoramic photograph looking back to the Melbourne cityscape.

Great shopping, cafes and dining experiences are close by in Bay Street. It has all the shops you will need during your stay including a Coles supermarket.

Close to home for younger folk is a fun playground that is literally at the end of the street.

Walk around the back streets of Port Melbourne or along the nearby 109 light rail route you will discover some well-preserved historic homes set amongst quiet, tree-lined streets. Pay a visit the famous Railway Club Hotel “gastro pub” or cross the road to the Station Street Trading Co café in Raglan Street.

The famous South Melbourne Market is a short 20 minute walk, quick drive or bus trip on the 234 that leaves from outside Coles. The 234 bus can also take you to the city and on to the amazing Victoria Market.

The South Melbourne Market features the freshest local produce and artisan products. It really is another must visit. Nearby in South Melbourne is the historic Clarendon Street shopping precinct.

It is worth a walk to the popular Albert Park Village in Albert Park for great cafes, restaurants and shopping. Along the way discover the superb and expensive historic Victorian and Edwardian homes partially around stunning St. Vincents Gardens.

Outdoor fitness enthusiasts are spoilt for choice and convenience. There are exercise stations along the beach foreshore. Nearby is the Albert Park Lake precinct, with a 4.7 km lakeside running/walking track, sports fields and the Albert Park Golf Course as well as public BBQs, picnic areas and the amazing timber adventure playground in Middle Park. It has the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre which caters for all swimmers, from recreational family swimming to elite athletes with six pools, including two Olympic pools, a wave pool and water slide. Its indoor sports facilities are world class and there is an adjacent golf driving range.

The tourist attractions of St Kilda are within easy reach by car or by the 606 bus which leaves from the corner Bay and Richardson Streets. The raised promenade along Beaconsfield Parade is a 40 minute walk that connects Port Melbourne to the popular and famous St Kilda Beach where you will find beachfront cafés, restaurants and a busy night-life scene. The famous Esplanade Hotel is a must if music and merriment is your scene. Go see the historic Luna Park family amusement park that’s “just for fun”, visit the cafes and fabulous cake shops of Acland Street or the popular tourist destination of the St.Kilda beach foreshore with its pier inhabited by Little Penguins nesting amongst the rocks. Best to visit the penguins at dusk.

It is less than 4 kilometres to Melbourne’s tourist ikons of the superb Royal Botanical Gardens, The Shrine of Remembrance, the Melbourne Cricket Ground home of Australian Rules football in winter and cricket in summer, Rod Laver Arena for the Australian Open tennis in January or Melbourne’s CBD with it many shops, cafes, theatres. Do not forget to visit the famous graffiti laneways of Hosiery Lane and the Block and Royal Arcades. Stop for a coffee in one on the many lanes. Its so Melbourne.

If art and multimedia is of interest the National Gallery of Victoria's Australian and Indigenous collections and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) at Federation Square is well worth a visit. Nearby the National Gallery of Victoria is always having a major world class exhibition or go see theatre, opera, ballet or a concert in the Arts precinct. Last minutes tickets can be obtained at discount prices from Halftix.

If shopping, fashion and fine dining is your thing and you want to see and be seen then Chapel Street in South Yarra especially on a Saturday is the go. Alternatively, head out to Melbourne’s fashion capital at Chadstone Shopping Centre.

There is lots to do in Melbourne and you have chosen a great place to start your adventure.

A manual called “Adventures Port Melbourne” is provided in the property that provides information and maps on all the To Do’s in and around Melbourne.

Make sure to get out and about to enjoy it.

I am here to make sure that you have a great stay.

Any questions just ask.

YOUR HOST: GARY COPOLOV Hello, my name is Gary and I live in Middle Park, Melbourne. I currently manage ten short to long term accommodation properties in Middle Park (5), Albert Park (2), South Melbourne (1), Port Melbourne (1) and Torquay (1). Middle Park, Albert Park, South Melbourne and Port Melbourne are arguably some of Melbourne’s best inner city bayside suburbs which is why I chose to live and manage properties in the area. My Airbnb hosting journey started when my wife, Jo and I bought Florence Court in Nimmo Street, Middle Park. It is a heritage listed, mid 30's Art Deco apartment block where I offer three fantastic short term accommodation apartments. I now operate nine brilliant short to long term accommodation properties in the area ranging from apartments to houses and from one to four bedrooms. They are all stunning and fitted out to the very highest standard. As an Airbnb Superhost I offer my guests a concierge like service. I am an unashamed ambassador for the area where I have lived for over 27 years. Just tell me your interests and I will offer my recommendations. Each property has a copy of "Adventures" which provides details my recommended local To Do's and the very best of nearby dining pleasures. There are recommendations for guests of all ages. Jo and I met playing tennis at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club and were married in Paris just over 25 years ago. Jo is a part time teacher at the local primary school where she is a special education reading teacher. She has a real passion for books, real estate and interior design. A typical week will see her at a local café with friends, walking our dog in the nearby park, seeing a movie, attending her book club or a yoga class. We have two children. Natasha (Tash) is Design graduate working in the construction industry. When she is not out socialising or globetrotting she may occasionally walk our friendly Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever called Hudson. We love pets and welcome them at all properties. Our son Louis lives in Portland, Maine, USA where he is the Player Manager of the Portland Red Claws Basketball Team. He attended university in Boston, USA and represented Australia in rowing as a coxswain. On weekends, given a chance, we will visit a beach side holiday apartment with stunning sea views in Torquay. Torquay is just over an hour’s drive from Melbourne. It is Victoria's surf capital and the gateway to the famous Great Ocean Road. In Torquay, we enjoy walks, great local food, wine, the many surf beaches and the company of friends. The apartment is available for stays on Airbnb. (Sleeps 8). We have travelled to Europe, the Middle East, South East Asia and the USA where we have enjoyed Airbnb hospitality in England, France, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Croatia, Turkey, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and the United States. I wish to share that same pleasure and the excitement of travel with my guests. I am a self-employed Marketing Consultant whose consultancy, Gold Medal Marketing develops and implements business development programs for businesses in various industries. I have written and deliver a number of business development programs. I am the honorary Chairman of the Australian Patients Association (APA) which advocates, educates and supports Australian patients. We strive to be the voice of and for Australian patients. I attend a local gym for regular workouts, watch St. Kilda, an Australian Rules Football Club as a long standing club member and are usually working on some property development project for myself, family or friends. I like to catch a movie or show and visit galleries and believing that you should “be a tourist in your own town” try get out to something interesting either near or far. I look forward to sharing the great properties which I manage and my local experience with my guests. I am available to ensure that you have a great stay. Your host, Gary Copolov.
