The room is one of the original bedrooms in a 1920's Cape Cod style home in the Heart of Melrose. It is in the front of the house and just down the hall is a full bathroom which we will share. For this reason, I ask that only women inquire about Cheerful Room in the Heart of Melrose. The bedroom is well lit with five windows. Three of these are french windows which face the front of the house. There are people walking on the sidewalk during the day and into the evening. Most are from the neighborhood and many have dogs! There are also people from other areas here to enjoy the restaurants and commercial enterprises on Melrose. This is a big city and there are, sometimes, a few undesirable characters out there, so just be street smart as you walk around. Use common sense, don't be afraid to enjoy yourself, it's just wise to watch your surroundings, as you would anywhere.
The furniture includes a full bed, night stand, three drawer chest, vanity table, large desk with a chair and file cabinet, a bookcase, and a small table with two chairs. The closet is about three feet long with two rows of shelving above the hanging rod.
The neighborhood is quite popular!. It has a West Hollywood/entertainment industry feel with single family homes and Melrose Avenue right down the block. There are several restaurants, independently owned clothing shops and small theaters on Melrose. Paramount Studios is about a mile to the east, on Melrose. The Grove, and both LaBrea and Fairfax Avenues are within eight short blocks of here. Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards are about a mile north with Beverly Hills and Century City to the west. There is bus stop right on the corner, and several other main routes from 4 to 8 blocks away.
If you have a car my driveway is available with one important caveat. On Wednesday late afternoon I must have access to the street and also on Thursday morning, possibly until late afternoon. You will have to find parking on the street on our block or just one block to the north. The block to the north does not require a permit. The neighborhood is considered safe and we have an active Neighborhood Watch. There is a flea market every Sunday on the parking lot of nearby Fairfax High School! Parks and libraries are also quite close.
If you are a walker, Melrose goes all the way to Robertson with upscale design shops and well known "celebrity spotting" restaurants, if that is what you are looking for. There is something for everyone nearby.
Thanks for your interest and wherever you go, happy traveling.
