Keisuke was an excellent host, and the facility was a brand-new Japanese high-tech fortress! Communicating with Keisuke via Airbnb was pleasant, and always happened in a timely manner. He picked me up from Omiya station upon my arrival from the airport, which saved me from a lot of grief. The house was clean and equipped with everything you need. Keisuke even went out of his ways to accommodate me by doing me a big favor of ordering something online and delivering it. He also ordered an extra portable fan/swamp cooler for my room since the heat wave had hit Japan suddenly when I arrived. I also got to taste freshly harvested Japanese cucumbers and tomatoes from his vegetable garden. They were excellent! Getting around to metro Tokyo from his place wasn't too bad either, considering the location. 6 min walk to a nearby bus stop, 20 min bus ride, then from Omiya station, you're set to adventure into any destination (30-40 min to Shinjuku depending on "local", "express" or "limited express" types of trains). I recommend buying Suica electronic pass card. You can use it for everything--bus, trains, subways, and even shopping! Keisuke and his wife are excellent hosts who are there to make your stay most enjoyable.
I enjoyed my stay at Keisuke's house which is both beautiful, comfortable and equipped with all the high tech Japanese gadgetry you can think of. Thank you for making my stay such a pleasant one and for picking me up at the station and waking up so early again to send us off. Arigatou gosaimasu!!
We spend a few nights at Keisukes home. A brandnew building with a lot of gadgets ;-). Keisuke is a really supportive host: Picked us up at Omiya train station, dropped us at a doctor and so on. We could use all facilities, e.g. washing machine, fridge, the fully equipped kitchen.... We slept very well in a small room furnished with a futon and a small wardrobe. The best for me was to spend a few hours with him and his friends in an Onsen. Keisukes house is not the nearest place to Tokyo station, but we loved it to commute: A short 6 min stroll from his home to the bus station, a 20 min bus ride (bus is 200 JPY/person) to Omiya station and then 23 minutes with Shinkansen to Tokyo station. Including waiting time not more than 60 min. So, finally we like to recommend Keisukes home and friendship to all those guys who want to discover not only the city center.
