Charming, quiet, sunlit, among the redwood trees and birdsong, this 1925 Storybook House is also a 5 minute drive (or a 20 minute walk) to the Berkeley's Gourmet Ghetto on Shattuck Street as well as the University Campus. Spacious for 2, room for 4.
This is a one bedroom house, perfect for one or two people, but can accommodate up to 4 with the sofabed in the livingroom. The location is really quiet and in among the redwood trees, but still quite close to the downtown areas. People walk here on the streets and the footpaths all the time. There is access to a waterfall and trails right outside the door, on our neighbor's property which she keeps open to the public. NB: The interior stairs are steeper than normal and uneven. The outside stairs are also...rustic, so if you have trouble with knees or mobility, be aware of this.
You can use the washer and dryer, there's fast internet and a printer on the network. There is a kitchen, with stove oven and microwave, but no dishwasher, so you'll need to do your dishes by hand. Also there's no TV. There is also access to Codornices Park through a trail right by the parking space.
This is a house that I live in part time, so some of the drawers have my clothes in them and I leave some food in the fridge.

I will try and meet you at the house if I can when you arrive so I can show you around. Just tell me your arrival time and we can work it out. I'm available to answer questions by email or by phone in an emergency. I live about an hour away, so I won't normally be around when guests are there, but can come if there's a need.
Другие важные подробности
The stairs are steep and somewhat uneven, both inside and outside, so it's not a good choice for families with young children or for people with uncertain knees and ankles. Also floors are not entirely level. This area in the hills is constantly settling so all the older houses have character.
Be quiet and respectful of neighbors and the house. It was built in 1925 and although it's sturdy, it can use a little respect and care.
No fires at all in the fireplaces which are old and merely decorative. The area, the Berkeley Hills, has had a few devastating fires and so no smoking or candles or fireworks, either.
Please leave the dishes clean and the house as neat as you find it. You don't need to strip the beds, but leave the used towels in the washing machine. Leave heaters and lights off and doors and windows closed.
Since I'm just getting started using airbnb, please leave me a note or email me if there are any issues with the house you think I should address.
I'm an artist and writer and the director of a small non-profit meditation center in Santa Rosa CA and live in the North Bay. My little house in Berkeley is a refuge for me to draw and write and enjoy the city of Berkeley and the wonderful neighborhood, and to share with family and guests.
I live with my husband and dogs and sheep and sometimes with my almost grown children.
