Cristina and her family were great hosts--very responsive over email and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), and they kindly allowed us to check in early after an overnight flight from the States. The location is great – – very central, and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go (Plaza de Adams, Bellas Artes, Lastarria, Bellavista) with two small children in tow. If you need the metro, it is less than a block away--we took it to explore Barrio Brasil since the kids had been doing so much walking. It would honestly be hard to find a better location.
The only challenge was the hot water. It was pretty finicky. My husband is a builder, so he's pretty good at figuring out such things. We did discover that if you turn on the hot water in the sink in the bathroom and let it run for a bit, that seemed to pull hot water into the bathroom, so that then it would come out of the shower. If you have one person who can stand in the kitchen by the water heater and talk to the person in the bathroom, the two of you can figure it out eventually. But the hot water heater is definitely cranky. Otherwise a five star stay.
