PRIVATE studio, top location at Grünerløkka, private entrance, small and cosy, heated bathroom floors. Perfect for culturally and historically oriented travellers. Grünerløkka is Oslo’s Greenwich Village: A vibrant traditional working class area by the Aker River surrounded by green parks and trees.
This is THE BEST location at Grünerløkka! Your PRIVATE entrance and space. Heated bathroom floors are very comfortable in the winter. Toiletries, hair dryer and amenities in the bathroom. This is a small space, so please note that this is perfect for 1 person, but if you want to save money, 2 persons can be perfectly ok here. Quiet street with beautiful back yard. Most of the year its very quiet. However, as we live in the middle of the town, in a youthful and vibrant area, we always need to accept that there can always be an occasional party somewhere, perhaps mostly in summer months and when students start/end their terms. You have your own door calling system directly to the studio.
Guests have access to a beautiful back yard. You are free to throw your garbage in the bins in our back yard.

We look forward to meet you at the address when you arrive. Other than that we're busy with our work, family and friends and daily lives as everyone else, but we are always happy to share our advice and help you out:-)! Just let us know if there is anything you need, we've both got the airbnb app on our cell phones. And you will be very safe and sound as we live just next door.

If you would like to buy wine or alcohol while here, please note that alcoholic beverages are not freely available on any store, at any time, as in other countries in southern Europe. Wine and liquours has to be bought at the "Vinmonopolet" (a specialty store, just (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) your closest store)- and they have opening hours, which are close to regular work hours. Please check these opening hours in their stores, on their website, particularly if you plan to visit during holidays as its closed during holidays, as they are usually closed on a holiday. That means that you will have to buy in advance of any such holiday. You can buy beer in a grocery store, but not after 18:00, so if you pass the counter after this time your counter will have a timer that will automatically deny a customer to purchase such beverages after the set time.
* This is a non-smoking studio. (We kindly ask you to not smoke at all inside, and not out the window either as the smell will stick).
* Normal Oslo house rules, no loud music after 23:00 out of respect for neighbours.
* Please note that the studio is in the fourth floor without an elevator, so make sure that you can carry your suitcases and go up the staircase before you book! We will not be able to carry suitcases for guests.
* We kindly ask you to not walk with you outside boots/shoes on our 100% pure wool and white Laura Ashley carpet. (The general custom in Norway is to take off our shoes outside the door before we enter the house, or in the hall way closes to the entrance door).
My husband and I have been living in the area for almost 15 years and know the neighbourhood very well. My husband is a historian and university professor. I am a director of the Norwegian chapter of a global network of organizations. We both work in town, so its easy for us to meet you and give you the key to the studio.
We are experienced travellers ourselves and will be more than happy to share our knowledge of our the city with you, that little inside information on local history, art, music, exhibitions, theatre, restaurants etc. as we know it might make that little difference to your stay in Oslo:-) We're vegetarians and know which places we like. (And with carnivore families we also know where they like to go). We also love the out doors and nature and we're happy to share tips on the beautiful nature just outside Oslo or places to consider in your coming or going here.
We live just next door to the studio we rent out. For single travelers that may present that little extra safety and just nice to know that there is someone next door.
We look forward to meet you in Oslo!
