A true artist loft in the Lower East Side close to subway and the "action" of restaurants, bars, art studios, and short 12-minute walk to the F train and all of Manhattan. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Quiet neighborhood so you can rest!
This area of the LES is less hectic but has all the charm and subway lines are close. China town, Little Italy and Soho are a quick 15-minute walk away. The loft is located in a historic 1870's schoolhouse that was converted into beautiful apartments featuring full size stainless kitchen, 1 bathroom with tub, 22ft ceilings with four sets of 15ft windows, ample living and dining room and queen size bed upstairs, new fold out couch downstairs (true qeen bed) and private separate dressing room.
Also, for NYC, you can hear a pin drop at night! Really, we have our windows open in the Fall and Spring and other than a stray party girl/guy or a motorcycle, it is very quiet here so you will get great sleep.
Restaurants are popping up like Crazy. A few neighborhood favorites:
Cafe Petisco - Mediterannian flair, super fresh (cash only)
Les Enfants de Boheme - very fun, lively French Bistro, live music nightly (cash only)
Bar 169 - oldest bar in NYC - younger crowd but cheap drinks and bar food + fun pool table in the back
Mission Chinese - voted top favorite for funky take on Chinese food
Pho Grand - Amazing Vietnamese Pho soup for 7.95 a bowl + big menu with lots of choices including vegan
Kikki's - best Greek in LES - ask for Nick (and the grilled octopus is the best we've had!)
Forgetmenot - fun bar (owned by Nick at Kikki's)
Bacaro - Italian, great bar and amazing food (love the squid ink risotto)
Zest - Sushi and daily specials for $3.50 from 3:30-7 (including sake and beer)!
Katcha - German fair, amazing beer selection on draft and sausages like you get in the old country
We are situated 2 blocks from the East River and the amazing running, walking trails and between the Williamsburg and Manhatten bridges. The Brooklyn Bridge is only a short walk from the Manhatten bridge heading south towards Wall Street.
The F line takes you EVERYWHERE you'd want to go in NYC, Broadway/Lafayette (Soho), 14th Street/Meatpacking, 24th Chelsea, 34th Macy's/Harold Square, 42nd Times Square, 57th Central Park. F Heading south takes you right into Brooklyn!
Wifi included. Clean sheets and towels provided for guests. Home is super clean. Upstairs (not in the bedroom area) there is a private walk-in closet that is closed off to guests and monitored by a motion-activated video sensor - we ask that you do not enter that area.
Cold brewed coffee (it's really yummy) in the fridge in a glass bottle. Just put in a cup and throw in the microwave. Cream and sugar will be there as well. Printer set up on the WiFi guest access so you can print directions, maps or your plane tickets.
We have a large living room floor (hardwood) that is perfect for yoga. Mats, blocks, strap, bolster and blanket will be available.
