Our cozy studio-style guest house perched above a tree-filled canyon is a serene getaway in the center of San Diego, near our varied neighborhoods and all major tourist attractions.
Our guest house overlooks a canyon with a nature conservancy atmosphere: our tree-filled yard hosts red-tailed hawks, hummingbirds, and various other avian visitors.
We live in the Clairemont area of San Diego, close to central San Diego and its diverse neighborhoods. The coastal communities of Ocean Beach, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and La Jolla are a few minutes' drive from here.
Sea World is down the hill from us, and Balboa Park, with its world-famous zoo and many different museums, is a short drive from here.
We provide broadband (wi-fi) internet access and a flat-screen TV.
The lounging area features a pair of super-comfy Bellini chairs.
The queen-size bed is nestled in a sleeping nook next to French doors that open onto the canyon.
Louvered privacy blinds on all the doors & windows provide privacy or shade from our usual bright sunlit days.
The galley kitchen has a four-burner stove, spacious countertop, under-counter refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and a covered pantry storage unit.
The European Spa Shower has a 100-spout "rainfall" head, eight body jets and a spray wand.
Futons, a high chair, a Pack 'n' Play crib, a potty chair, a stroller, and a car seat are available if needed.
We’ve been hosting friends, family and visitors for many years; now we welcome you to our backyard retreat.

Другие важные подробности
Although San Diego lacks good public transport, our Clairemont neighborhood has many good markets nearby, as I have noted in the Guidebook section.
Sprouts is the nearest health food store, but several other local markets nearby offer high quality produce and organic foods.
Just east of here is the Convoy Street area that has numerous Asian markets & restaurants; Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Viet Namese, Indian, Persian & more -- all are nearby, from supermarkets to bargain dining, and several "high class" restaurants as well.
Our Guest House is in our backyard, but it has its own private gated entrance from the street and a privacy fence that separates it from our yard.
No smoking inside, please. Smoking outside is permitted, of course.
No pets, sorry--it's simply not practical to host animals in our small space.
Doing laundry in our washer & dryer may be arranged by appointment.
An ironing board & iron are available by request.
We have numerous accessories for children, as noted in the description.
My wife is a book artist, teacher and co-founder of a small fine arts press. I am an editor, writer, teacher and tutor. We are art and music lovers who work with local arts organizations in many ways.
We have lived here for over 40 years; now we are happy to share our quiet 'getaway' guest house with visitors to San Diego.
We've traveled to Europe, Mexico, the Middle East and Asia; we are pleased to welcome you to "America's Finest City" with a perfect climate and many picturesque attractions.
