Cleaning fee of $150 for up to one week stay.
Weather is unpredictable in Big Bear, and our home is in Upper Moonridge, which is higher altitude than the main town. If you are visiting in the winter, be prepared, and know that we cannot control the weather :). You may luck out and have the perfect winter wonderland with clear roads and tons of snow at the ski areas. Or, there may be no snow at all, or rain. Or, the snow may be so heavy that you have trouble getting out of the driveway and you end up holed up in the house, playing board games, making a fire, and waiting for the snowplow to make it up the road to dig you out! In the winter, travel with high-quality chains in your car (extra pair recommended), warm clothes, food and water, and a sense of adventure.
We appreciate guests who treat our home as if it's their own.
This is a quiet residential neighborhood. Most of the neighbors live in Big Bear full time and they have our phone number. If we get a noise complaint you will forfeit your security deposit. Remember if you are on the deck/in the spa, your voice carries. No music allowed outside or with the door open.
If you would like to bring your dog, you must first get approval from us by providing info about the breed, size, and age at the time of your booking request. We have a fenced yard, but expect guests to make sure their animals know how to go outside when it's time to go. If your dog goes on the rug, scratches up doors, or damages furniture we will ask you to cover the cost of cleaning or repair. Please don't leave your dog outside unattended. It causes barking problems and there are coyotes and bears in the immediate neighborhood.
No smoking! That includes inside and outside. Any evidence of smoking will forfeit your security deposit.
Big Bear is in drought conditions. Please limit water use. No filling of bathing pools. Thank you!
At the end of your stay, you'll need to wash and put away the dishes, and take all trash and recycling down the hill to the Clean Bear Trash Site.
There is a cleaning fee of $150 for up to one week's stay, in addition to the per night fee.
We have beautiful cozy beds with top quality mattresses, and we ask that no one jump on them.
There is room for 3 cars to park (one in garage, 2 in driveway). Parking is NOT allowed on the street so snow plows can get through. No more than 3 cars are allowed per Big Bear City law. If there are more than 3 cars at any time they can be towed.
There is a limit of 8 people in the cabin (including children).
My husband Chris and I live in Los Angeles, and have two sons in college. I work as a child psychologist, and Chris is a software engineer. We love to get away to our Big Bear cabin whenever we can, and when we can't be there we're happy to share it with other fans of the mountains.
