Four rooms w/ private entrances detached from main home: Two sleeping quarters priced separately for up to 5 guests total (No Cleaning Fee), a sun room and bathroom with cast iron claw foot tub. Farm to Table breakfast included. Have hosted weddings/groups. Swimming pool operational Late June until early September - though heated, temperature dependent on latest weather conditions.
Important note: Though we have accommodations for up to 5 guests, if a couple books one room first we will usually block off the other room so this couple (or single guest) may have complete privacy!
The first room is a 12' x 12' queen bedroom suite designed out of Fir logs to emulate a traditional "Alaskan Cache". We nickname this room the "Bear Tower" taken from the original function of a frontier cabin's storage of food out of the reach of predatory wildlife. Ours, though, has skylights, baseboard heating, deluxe box refrigerator and programmable satellite TV.
The second sleeping quarters (15' x 17') is what we call the "Gameroom", complete with regulation-sized billiard table, backgammon kit, a sampling of photography, art and music paraphernalia. Satellite TV with a great selection of movie and concert tapes. The double futon sleeps two comfortably and there is an additional twin bed. Please let us know which room you would prefer as our recommendation is that the Queen room in the Bear Tower is more suitable for couples.
The third room is a common room which we call the "Sun Room" because of extensive vertical glass construction. Here, any guests can gather to watch movies, read or relax. There is a box refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker with assorted teas: breakfast available each morning made from our family farm. Additionally a Bow Flex stair climber can be used on pre-approval - no youth or children please. There is a land-line phone here and Wi-Fi everywhere.
Finally, your bathroom (5' x 12') - featuring a cast iron claw foot tub with British telephone faucet / hand shower. The hot water never runs out as it is supplied by a propane tankless water heater. Lay back in bubbles from home-made bath bombs soaking away those tired Baker-induced muscle aches using your caddy for wine, reading or even watch TV. We provide two plush terry-cloth robes.

Bonus amenities: For those wanting a complete relaxation massage, Barbi will be available for most evenings at your request. This would be conducted in a private room with exclusive availability of our hot tub either before or after the appointment. The hot tub is only for this massage package offer. Ask for details and fees. Barbi has exceptional experience and once worked for the MLB Cincinnati Reds.
We are located 35 minutes from Bellingham via Mt. Baker Highway 542 and 30 minutes from Mt. Baker Ski Area between the towns of Maple Falls and Glacier. The property sits on a very secure two acres with ample parking for several vehicles. You will have a separate, private walkway to get from your vehicle (at the front entrance) to the rooms, about a minute and a half walk. This access is well lighted and you will be emailed a detailed description of how to get to each dwelling and the property itself. Once inside the front gate, you may see sheep, ducks or chickens as you come around the side of the buildings. Please give all animals the right of way and do not approach. Additionally, the barn at back of property is not for access. At an elevation of 865 ft., there is seldom large amounts of snowfall, yet for those few times, the drive and walkways should be plowed. There are rubber mats and outdoor carpet on all cedar decking leading to the rooms and for random icy conditions, a heat torch to melt problem areas.
Rooms are one night minimum stay except during holidays in which they become two nights.
We can accommodate any guest preference for privacy or personal needs. For those that require low maintenance initial access, we can have your key placed in a pre-determined location. Along with your map of the property, you would have no problems getting to your room unescorted. There are some minor show-and-tell particulars that would be helpful for us to go over with you at some point in the evening, i.e., operation of heating controls, etc. Each room will be inspected at your departure and we just ask for your utmost respect and care for all furnishings used.
The property is a quiet rual area flanked by similar acre-plus size lots on either side. You will not be disturbed by neighbors, only a few "baas" by sheep around sunset when they are expecting their daily grain. The hamlet of Glacier is three miles east with a country store and three great restaurants but no gas station. Maple Falls is four miles west which you come through before getting to our home. The last gas is here with wi-fi, cel coverage and a wide variety of food and supplies. There are additional eating options also. We are two hours from Seattle and even closer to Vancouver, B.C. and 25 minutes from Abbotsford, B.C. via Highway 547.

We are a local couple who have lived in this unique, self-built home for 19 years. Patrick worked 20 years in management for Mt. Baker Ski Area and now is with the North Cascades Institute. Barbi came from Cincinnati as an RN and sports massage therapist. Both of us love the Pacific Northwest and what we have created for each other here. We have regularly shared our home in the past with a local boys group and have even hosted a two-day wedding event for over 100 guests. (Both parties would be happy to offer references if needed). You will find our environment warm and friendly and very much appreciated for complimenting us with your stay.
