We have a wonderful housekeeper and caretaker for the grounds. They will greet guests and the housekeeper will change linens and clean the house each week.

Within 45 minutes driving time are three of "the most beautiful villages in France." There are also excellent restaurants within 30 minutes, most of them very reasonable.
There is no smoking and, depending on the age of children, we need letters from renters assuming full responsibility for their health and safety. No pets.
I'm a film and television producer; an associate professor at two universities and a film and television actor. My wife is a clinical psychologist. We love travel and, 16 years ago, fell in love with a farmhouse in southwest France, just one hour from Bordeaux. We bought the place, visit it three times a year and, when we're not there, rent it out. We've had wonderful guests: teachers, ambassadors, artists, retired couples, two bands (!), TV writers, lawyers and families. They've fallen in love with the house and our nearby villages just as we did, years ago. Our 18th century house is full of antiques, comfortable furniture, books, DVD's and CD's and all modern conveniences.
