Comfortable home in South Austin with a private bedroom and newly remodeled private bathroom. Wifi, queen bed, and full kitchen at your disposal. Quiet neighborhood with great access to both Hill Country outings and trips downtown.
Fireplace, stained concrete floors, crazy garden. Come here to relax after a long day of festival or hiking or wherever your travel takes you. The house is on a "mother-in-law" plan, which, if you work in realty, means my room is on one side of the house, your room and bathroom are on the other, so there's good privacy. The room has a queen size bed that is good for up to two guests.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen and living room. Those areas are shared. Coffee maker, fridge, microwave, and a television in the living room (Direct TV + HBO), etc. Wifi is available, too. Bathroom is all yours and is right beside your room. Keurig in your room as well.

I'm still living in the space and caring for my furry friends, so I'll be around for questions or help should something come up, but I'll give you space to be on your own as well. If I'm around and available and you're attending a festival with difficult parking, I'll be happy to drop you off where you need to go. Can't guarantee that given work schedule so transport alternatives are still highly recommended.

My check-in times are listed as 5-6pm. I have the old 8-5 work week so can't meet you earlier unless I arrange time off work. If you need that during the week, check with me and I'll let you know if I can accommodate around my work schedule. If you need to check in earlier on a weekend, that can be easily arranged.
I have a dog (very shy but very sweet) and 2 cats. Be aware if you have allergies or are averse to cuddling with fuzzy creatures. They'll try it. I can't stop them. But you can and should say "no" if you want.
You are welcome to live in the house as if you were a roommate. Enjoy the living room and kitchen as much as you like/need. Keep in mind this is a family neighborhood so keep the noise to a minimum. HOWEVER, if you've just come from a festival and have a crazy music recommendation, I might ask you to give me a name so I can find it on Spotify. Post-film-festival movie recommendation? Write it down for me, please! Then again, if you're more private and prefer to just have the space to stay in and not interact much, that's okay too. It's your vacation! Do what makes you feel comfortable as long as my neighbors are comfortable too! I'll work to accommodate you.
Cannot live without books, music, film, art, gardening, cooking, hiking, writing time, and traveling.
I have done mostly in-country trips in recent years, and some of those have been great. Hoping to start international travel again soon. My favorite destinations from the good ol' days were England and Turkey. Both places I hope to visit again while adding a few new stops.
My hosting style is pretty flexible. I know different people want different things in a host. If you want to chat and tell me about your day, I'd love to hear about it. If you prefer to simply have the room as a place to stay and keep to yourself (more like a hotel experience), that's okay too. My secondary hosts (my dog and at least one of my two cats) might be a little more inclined to want to get to know you. Just be aware. :) We'll keep them out of your room, but they may say hi when you're around and in the shared spaces.
I'm always available to provide information on places to visit while you're here or to help you find best routes of travel. If you have any questions, just let me know.
