it is perfect for exploring the Garden Island as well as relaxing after a long afternoon at the beach. Fully-furnished, with two large bedrooms with a/c and a king bed in each, bathroom with double vanity, roomy full kitchen, and dining area that opens onto a large living area leading to a spacious lanai. Amenities include large-screen television with digital cable, ceiling fans in all rooms, towels, sheets, dishes and other kitchenware, iron and ironing board. NEW! a/c units in each bedroom. We have Turbo internet (up to 20/2Mbps) with our WiFi secure network. Taxes are included in pricing. All areas have ceiling fan, 5 total. Two in living room, one in kitchen and 1 in each bedroom.

Ohia Kai Hale has large windows to let the beautiful Kaua`i sun into each room. Tropical vegetation, including palms, mango, noni, mock orange, banana, and panax abounds on the property. On the lower level there is lush landscaping with a gas BBQ grill and laundry room with high efficiency washer and dryer for available for guest use.

The location of `Ohi`a Kai is ideal for vacationers, business visitors, and residents seeking short-term housing. It is fairly quiet; ubiquitous Kauai chickens and roosters and nearby neighbors may add aural color to the sound environment. The lot is one block from Kuhio Highway (no highway noise), within convenient walking distance of the beach, several churches, and the shopping and dining pleasures of downtown Kapa`a. It is approximately ten miles from Lihue Airport, a 20-minute drive at non-peak times.
Some popular visitor destinations to the north and their approximate driving times include Kealia Beach (5 minutes), `Anini Beach (25 minutes), Kilauea Lighthouse (20 minutes), Limahuli National Tropical Garden (55 minutes), Hanalei (45 minutes), and Haena State Park at the end of the road (60 minutes). Haena is where you will find Ke`e Beach and the trailhead to the spectacular Na Pali Coast trail.

To the south heading toward Lihue, Coconut Marketplace (5 minutes), Lydgate Beach Park (10 minutes), turn right at Coco Palms to see `Opaeka`a Falls (15 minutes). When you are back on Kuhio Highway heading toward Lihue, turn right to Hanamaulu to see Wailua Falls (30 minutes), Kukui Grove Mall (22 minutes), or continue on Kuhio Highway to Poipu (30 mins.) Back on the highway see the largest coffee plantation in the USA, Kauai Coffee. At the southwestern end of the road is Kekaha, with a very large and private beach, or before you get that far, turn right to see Waimea Canyon.

Nous avons passé un très agreable sejour, la maison est parfaitement située, proche de tout et tres facile d'acces.

Great location. Close proximity to shops, restaurants and stores. House gets VERY hot during the day in the main living area and kitchen, to the point that you are unable to be there during the heat of the day unless you are in the air conditioned bedrooms. Not ideal for a family with small children, hard to baby proof. It was quite dusty and dirty as well, so that was a little difficult with little ones. Other than those things it was great! Spacious, nice big kitchen, quiet, and the host,bob, was wonderful and very accommodating!

The home was well equipped with extras including beach items and even a baby gate for the stairs.

Bob's place was perfect for my family and I to spend our Christmas vacation! A wonderful place for a group to gather. The location is great - right in old town Kapaa and just a block from the walking/biking path that parallels the ocean.

I really cannot even begin to describe the loving, warm-heartedness that Bob and Marianne showed us during our stay. After a harrowing experience on the ocean where all of our belongings were swept to sea, they brought us over shrimp dinners, yogurt and cookies for breakfast, as well as some traditional Hawaiian medicine for our injuries. I cannot thank them enough. We were starving and penniless and this kind gesture was done spontaneously despite my refusal to ask for help. When they learned my husband was allergic to shrimp, without hesitation Marianne immediately left and brought back 2 cheeseburgers and french fries. With regards to the house, it was perfect for 4 people. Everything you need is in the kitchen and on hot nights you can sleep comfortably in air-conditioning. I loved sitting on the sofa and around the table on their large balcony and just looking at the green grass... they also provided mosquito coils so we didn't even see a bug. The living room and dining room area is very large and seats many people comfortably and it's a great place for groups to interact. The house was clean and tidy and the Internet worked great. Wifi was strong enough to stream a movie. In summary this is a wonderful hale owned by wonderful people. Lastly, they even offered to let us stay at their own private place when they realized we didn't have identification for the plane, because the house we were staying was being used the next few nights. At any rate, we didn't need to take them up on their offer, but it's a symbol of their kindness and generosity.

I am a Hawaii Licensed psychologist with Pacific Clinic Inc. on Kauai and my wife Marianne is a teacher at Hawaii Pacific University close to our vacation rental condo on the 21st floor of the Executive Centre in Honolulu.
We live on Kauai where we have 2 vacation rentals in downtown Kapaa
