Located in the quiet neighborhood of Windsor Terrace, this 2nd-fl apt has hardwood floors, modern aesthetic, bright sun-filled living room, separate dining room, large bedroom at rear of apt. Steps from 526-acre Prospect Park, block from the subway.

House Rules – 631 Vanderbilt Street, 2nd Floor

We hope you enjoy your time in our apartment and we want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We have some instructions for your stay at the apartment. If you have any problems you can contact us at Charles, (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or Sarah, (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). The phone in the office is a business phone and only to be used in emergencies. No long distance calls.

Entering the Apartment: The downstairs front door is sometimes difficult to unlock, put the key in, lift up on the door knob and turn the key. In an emergency: Should you have a problem entering the apartment you can go next door to the landlord’s daughter’s residence and her office is upstairs, Meghan can assist you. Her house is to the right of our entrance. If you arrive late in the evening, or on the weekend our landlady may also assist you. Sandy’s doorbell is the bottom one.

Once you are upstairs you have the choice of two entrances, the one at the top of the stairs takes you into the back of the house. The front door into the living room. Use the key for the top lock in both instances.

Smoking: There is no smoking in the apartment or the building or on the stoop by the front door.

Pets: No pets allowed.

Parties are not allowed. Respect our neighbors by lowering loud music after 9pm, our landlady is an early riser and goes to bed around 9pm.

Furniture: Please do not move furniture or sit on the edges of the sofa or chairs.

Books: Feel free to browse our extensive book collection, please replace books in the same place you found them.

Bedroom: We will provide space in our dresser for your clothes. Please do not use any of the closets in the apartment. The ceiling fan has only one speed; it’s best not to use both the ceiling fan and the air conditioner.

Linens: Fresh linens will be on the bed, please strip the beds before departure and leave them in the laundry basket located in the bathroom by the shower.

Television and Internet: We have Wi-Fi in the apartment, to access it the password is (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). The television has full cable including HBO as well as Roku. All remotes are on the bedside table.

Kitchen: Basic condiments and spices are available in the kitchen area as well as the pantry. If you finish something we ask that you replace it or leave compensation to replace it.

Dining Room: Please do not use any items in the dining room cabinet. All glassware and dinnerware are located in the kitchen. All closets are occupied.

Office: Do not use any of the computers, printers, fax machine, phones or scanner. The desks, file cabinets and drawers are off-limits.

Activities: Prospect Park is a half-block away to your left after exiting the house. There is a skating rink, walk and bike area and pond. You can rent bikes at the Juice Peddler.

Restaurants: The Paddock is across the street from the subway entrance, your basic French cuisine. The Adirondack bar is at the subway entrance and Commune and a wine store is down another block along Prospect Avenue. There is a pizza place on Prospect Park SW as well as a deli, Laundromat and coffee shop. Take the subway to the first stop, 15th Street for a broader selection of restaurants and stores. Two stops have you at 7th Avenue with even more selection.

Transportation: The subway is one block away on Prospect Avenue, go out the front door, take a right walk down to the end of the block and take a left; you’ll see the subway entrance on the next corner. We are on the F and G lines, the F takes you into Manhattan, the G takes you to Williamsburg and Queens. There is bus service on Prospect Park SW.

When you leave: Close all windows. Turn off ceiling fans. Lock doors; leave keys on kitchen counter and leave by the back door, locking the bottom lock.

Garbage: There is a compost container on the counter for all foodstuffs; green recyclable bags are in the silverware drawer. All plastics and paper items should be placed in the round blue container in front of the refrigerator. All other waste materials should be placed in the black wastepaper container. Prior to leaving please take down the compost container and dump in the brown trashcan located in the driveway; place the items from the black container in the black trashcan with other white plastic trash bags.
