Although this is a shared apartment with myself you will have a LOT of privacy. Respect for each others privacy and personal space is very important to me.

I can help you figure out the city, answer your questions and give you advice.

I am a full-time novelist with with several writing projects in the works. I work from home during the day so a quiet and peaceful environment is necessary.

If I'm not around leaving me a note on the kitchen table is an easy and quick way to communicate with me when things get busy or sending me a text message.

Другие важные подробности

I offer a short-term house share, not a hotel, hostel or bed & breakfast. I do not expect anything from you but mutual respect, cleanliness and consideration.

Please read the house rules. Thoughtful, adult, considerate housemates only. I keep my home clean but I, nor the other housemates, are your personal maid. Please clean up after yourself in the common areas.

No more than 2 pieces of checked luggage per guests and a carry on. No boxes, televisions, airbeds, furniture or more than 2 large suitcases. Bringing excessive luggage (i.e. 3-8+ pieces of luggage), furniture or boxes will cause immediate cancellation of your reservation. If you sneak it into my home when I am not looking, when I discover it I will cancel your reservation immediately. Please, find local short-term storage for your excessive luggage and personal belongings. Storage for suitcases start at $5/day near the Penn Station area and local storage facilities start at 20/month - a simple search online will bring up many options.

Please leave your shoes at the door. It keeps the apartment much cleaner and cozier! You can bring your own house slippers if you like.

There is no smoking in the apartment but you are free to smoke on the terrace. Make sure the terrace door and kitchen window are closed tight so that the smoke doesn't enter the apartment. Please use the ashtray that I provide and empty it into the trash before you check out.

Please clean up after yourself. A clean house is a much enjoyable space to live for everyone.

Used dishes should be washed every evening and put to dry in the kitchen, stacks of dishes in your room overnight is a no no, other people need to have access to the dishes in the house.

You are free to store food in the refrigerator and kitchen but please do not eat my food. I have a lot of food allergies and so my foods are very specific.

The kitchen is open for food preparation and light cooking only. Meals should take less than hour to prepare on the stove. No cooking after 6pm. Please do not use the oven.

Quiet Hours: 11PM - 11AM. Please be considerate of your noise levels in the morning, especially in the hall shared by the bedrooms. Slamming doors, using "outside" voices to talk between the bedroom and bathroom or into your phone is not okay. Please don't assume that it is "time" for everyone to wake up once you are awake for the day.

Help save energy and conserve the environment; turn off televisions and bedroom lights upon leaving the apartment.

Check-out is at 10am. Late check-outs will incur a fee of $150. This includes storing your luggage. There are great facilities in midtown to store your luggage for $10/day. There is no fee for late check-outs that are arranged at least 24 hours before the day of departure. Please note that due to my reservation schedule I may not always be able to accommodate a late check-out.

At the end of the day all I am asking is that you take the time to be considerate and think about how your actions impacts myself and others. When we are aware of one another a natural flow happens and the beauty of life is able to shine through.

Living together takes a sense of openness and consideration. Please be willing to have fun, laugh and respect one another's space, property and privacy.

I spent a month at Keisha's place. It's very close to Central Park and the hospital. The buses are very handy (2 mins walk) to get into downtown manhattan. The subway is about an eight minute walk. There are lots of bodegas and restaurants nearby. There are a couple of decent supermarkets within a 10 minute walk. Keisha is a great host and the room is exactly as pictured. If you're looking for a place in manhattan without the stress, this is the place for you!

I had a lovely stay! The host is an incredibly kind and sincere person who made me feel at home right away. The apartment was very clean and cozy, and the room was thoughtfully prepared for my stay. There were extra linens, blankets and towels, maps, a helpful neighborhood guide with great suggestions, a little library of books, a set of toiletries, and even a bowl of treats! I found the apartment to be incredibly peaceful and conducive to reading and resting. The host was very warm, respectful and communicative. The location is fantastic, too. Central Park is less than 1 block away, and multiple subway stations and bus routes are just a short walk from the apartment. This was definitely a lovely stay with a wonderful host. Thank you!

Having lived in New York for 5 years myself, I can confidently say that Naomi's apartment is spacious, cozy, and just about as good as you can get in Manhattan. Naomi is a wonderful, accommodating host. I never felt uncomfortable asking her questions or making a request. Her rules were very clear and helpful. We had several sessions where we just chilled and talked about life. She's excellent at pep talks! I was in New York on business, but I think Naomi's B&B is good for basically any kind of visit. The proximity to Central Park would be a huge bonus for tourists, and the nearby 6 train gives you easy access to some of the most popular New York destinations like Grand Central and Union Square. If I'm ever in need of a B&B in New York again, I'll definitely be checking Naomi's place for availability. Thanks Naomi!

I'm a New York City artist who has lived in four of the five boroughs (sorry Staten Island). I love to read, travel and watch old movies. I'm often in Central Park, swimming in NYC's free outdoor pools in the summer when I have the time, hanging out at cafes, finding affordable tickets to the theater and the ballet, meditating, and spending quality time with friends. I also love to cook, garden and knit. I'm a foodie, although I suffer from several food allergies. I've done several 6-day silent mediation retreats and meditate daily to keep myself balanced.

I lived in West Africa for several years (Gambia and Senegal) and have travelled through Europe. My favorite city is still Paris, although I adore Nice and have much more traveling and exploring to do.

I'm originally from Boston but have lived in New York City for more than sixteen years. Although the honeymoon is over I still care about the city and don't mind helping you figure out how to navigate it.

I love art and have a special place in my heart for other artists. I am a very private person, nonjudgemental, and friendly. I like to keep my home low key and open, so people can have the space they need to relax. I'm usually open for a chat but am not a talkative person before noon. I feel, at least for myself, that easing into the day in quietness allows me to cope with living in such a crowded, loud and overbearing city.

I'm currently working on several projects, so when I am not working one of my part-time jobs I am home working on my writing and/or revisions and will keep to myself since I cannot manage more than world at a time (the world we live in versus the worlds I am creating).

If you are open to the eccentricities of living in a New York artist space, then my place may be for you!
