Taxi is the most easiest way to get everywhere. There are also some local buses, The TransJogja bus that could take you to the Prambanan or Borobudur Temple conveniently.

Bella is a very sweet person and everyone who works at Griya Yunika seems very nice and kind - I truly liked meeting everyone here. That said, the listing for this place on AirBnB has some considerable inaccuracies and there were unfortunately *multiple* issues and problems during my stay, some of which AirBnB guests should be aware of when considering if they would like to stay here. 1. Dangerous construction site: The description of this hotel was NOT accurate at the time of my booking given that it made no mention whatsoever of the work that is being done there right now. Indeed, it said that Griya Yunika is a "quiet and peaceful place" from which to explore Yogyakarta. (The only potential noise they mentioned had to do with the Muslim call to prayer - totally expected in Java - and a local high school. Neither of those things was a problem at all.) What WAS a problem is that Bella didn't inform me until *one day* before my arrival (well after I had booked - and paid for - my room) that they were doing "a bit of work" there but that it "would not impact the guest rooms". So imagine my surprise when I arrive to discover that the hotel is currently undergoing a MAJOR renovation - and that guests are essentially living in an active construction site. This wasn't a bit of light cosmetic work either - we're talking VERY loud hammering, pounding and sawing that started as early as 7am and went until the evening - and, even worse, guests have to walk THROUGH a dangerous construction zone in order to get from the reception area to the guest rooms, cafe, garden, and/or swimming pool. One day I couldn't even go downstairs in the morning because the staff asked us to eat breakfast in our rooms due to the fact that workers were bringing bucket after bucket full of concrete back and forth from the street to the construction area and the entire ground level was covered with mud and concrete. All in all, the fact that this wasn't mentioned in the listing is really unacceptable - not an accurate depiction of the hotel - and to be fair the construction *did* impact the guest rooms significantly and I heard several other guests who were discussing how upset / distressed they were to show up and find their accommodations in that condition. (It has come to my attention that Bella has since updated the listing to mention construction due to guest complaints but for those of us who were here this week, it's too little, too late.) 2. Double-booking rooms: There was a bait-and-switch with the room that I booked through AirBnB. The nice room shown here (which I paid for) was not the room I was taken to when I arrived. Instead, I was given a much smaller room with no dresser and no desk - in fact, it was barely big enough to hold...

We realize this very small action is not enough to pay for your disappointments, but we just wanted to show our valued guests how serious we are to undersolve this matter. This was a fantastic place to stay. Bella was extremely helpful and welcoming and gave me all the assistance I needed when going sightseeing. I would definitely stay here again.

How can I feel welcomed when the receptionist was not there when I arrived? I waited for about 25 minutes when the hotel driver who brought me to the hotel looked for her, ended up finding her after a bike ride, somewhere... The photos, as always, look better than the actual place, but this is not uncommon. One of the light bulbs in my room was broken, and my bathroom has a smell, which I believe comes through the drain pipe. Staff were quick to fix problems, the bulb was promptly replaced, and they even provided an adaptor for me. Breakfast selection was not huge, but totally sufficient to have different combination for a few days. The servings were very generous, and the coffee very good. A few misses, as they stuff up a few of my requests, provided wrong info for a place I wanted to visit (Makam Imogiri) I ended up not able to do a few things I had planned. That said, everyone is very pleasant and as helpful as can be, and at no time do I see anyone lose it (like I'd seen elsewhere). I can see that staff seem to have dual (if not triple) roles e.g. front office, cooking in the kitchen, cleaning rooms and who knows what else. Suggestion for the owner/manager, multitasking is one thing, stretching staff to a point where they can no longer operate in optimum condition will do more harm to your hotel's reputation and business, compared to a few dollars saved. I don't personally think it is a good idea to have a locked front door, with a sign that says 'open', when all your staff are at the back cooking, or cleaning, or...... Your staff will be warned out, or leave for greener pastures, or you will have more negative reviews that will bring long term damage to your pocket:-)

I would like to thank you for taking some of your precious time to write feedback upon your recent stay with us. I completely understand about your disappointment since there’s been major construction work in the homestay, with the dirty hallways and noisy sound. But, I would like to defend my staffs upon your comment on “we always leave the office unattended”. First of all, we’re not a big hotel with well established system or department, we’re not even hotel with a star (we hang the placard in the front office for everyone to see we are non-star hotel) so people will understand that our staffs indeed are having multiple roles (maid, cook, receptionist, public area, etc) but you should have known this before you booked a place called Bed and Breakfast. We’re still improving, so your suggestions about having one person to attend only one position, will be very useful in the future. Perhaps you should reconsider to stay in a well established lodging. A hotel you can book with famous online travel agents, I suppose. I tried my best to please you and we’ve always been so respectful to you during your stay, but since you’ve been constantly criticizing our hard working staffs, I will not sit idle and I will stand for them. Airbnb community is for the people who will appreciate a simplicity of hard working people, not to push them over the limit to meet someone’s expectation. You can see positive reviews our other guests gave us, all wasn’t because we’re perfect, but because they can understand our situation as a homestay with 8 rooms and 6 staffs, in a busy summer holiday season. Apparently, some small stuffs like broken bulbs that’s been changed within half an hour after you complained was a great deal to you so you need to mention it at least three times on your review, or a locked front office where you can walk 10 meters to find one of the staffs doing their works so you can ask them about where can you find your long lost relative without a single clue. To save other Airbnb host’s time and energy, I will not recommend anyone taking Ms Siew Lian as their guest, unless you have a very well established place with system that works, and someone she could always go to whenever she’s got a question. Have a good life! Stay blessed and let’s give positive vibes for our surrounding :)

Beautiful place. Very welcoming. Bella and the staff are always around if you need anything. Nice cold pool! Very walkable to main attractions in Yogyakarta. I ended up staying another day here. Quiet. The service is the best I've had in Indonesia.

It was really nice to stay in Yunika for a week. All staffs was nice, kind and helpful. breakfast was great as well. The location was perfect for me not too busy but close to main street. Well, Sounds of the mosque was super interesting. I thought people are crying. but I think that's part of Indonesia. (You can hear it everywhere) finally I enjoyed it.
