Jasmine and wisteria draw you in at first. A glimpse of azaleas, then hydrangea and in moments you find yourself following a path through perfumed bowers down to the bay for a spectacular sunset. CHEZ COVE is in a neighborhood of century-old oak trees draped with Spanish moss and fragrant magnolias with saucer-sized flowers. It is a wonderful neighborhood in which to walk or ride bicycles. Walk FACING traffic and ride bicycles WITH traffic. CHEZ COVE is a long block from the yacht club. Nearby is a community boat ramp and marina. Thirty minutes from some of the most wonderful beaches in the world. I have a large area for parking. I can send you to the best of our local restaurants. This area is known for its seafood, plucked right out of the Gulf of Mexico. I am an enthusiastic host and love company. Warning: although they are not allowed in the guest room, my cats' dander might bother those guests with allergies.
CHEZ COVE offers use of the living room and dining room, a large back deck, for reading, enjoying your complimentary morning coffee, talking. In the warmer months, you can enjoy our crystal clear pool which offers refreshment on a hot Florida afternoon while you catch the rays for a suntan. Walking is a pleasure in this older, charming neighborhood. Downtown is a half hour walk away for restaurants, antique emporiums, our art center, post office, our marina, our civic center and banks. And you'll see one of the last drawbridges in the U. S. which allows sailboats into Massalina Bayou from the bay.

My guests will most likely be away during the day, enjoying (1) our world-class beaches, (2) the charming fishing village, Appalachicola, with its reknowned bay crammed with scallops and oysters, (3) the deepest fresh spring, Wakulla Springs, in the U. S. to the east, (4) the only place in the world (outside of Madagascar) where there are inland dune lakes to the west of Panama City Beach, and (5) just north of here there is Caverns State Park, complete with a fascinating guided tour. My guests come back here after a day of fun and play and CHEZ COVE is a haven in which they can relax. In the warmer months, the crystal clear pool is available for swimming and we can have a wood fire in our outdoor pit. When the weather turns and there's a chill in the air, a fire in the indoor fireplace can be roaring!

CHEZ COVE IS ON CENTRAL TIME.
My wish is to make your stay as worry-free, comfortable, and fun-filled as is possible, and for you to enjoy a great night's rest. CHEZ COVE is on a quiet street, which is especially quiet at night. My neighborhood called The Cove is older and established and many of my neighbors grew up here and now make it their own home. It is a coveted neighborhood with professional people and some very large waterfront homes.
We have had a rash of guests arriving at unbelievably late hours and not even doing us the favor of calling ahead. In future, ARRIVAL TIME WILL BE NO LATER THAN 10 P.M. No smokers. No candles or incense in bedroom. Quiet time starts at 10 p.m. Be respectful of the hosts and other guests. I can shop for you and have on hand any special needs. My house is near the local fire department and a world-class hospital, in case of any emergencies. CHEZ COVE could allow a well-behaved dog or your cat (must stay in room).

As a former United flight attendant, travel is in my blood! I love humor, fun, laughter, good food, entertaining, Manhattan, Paris, San Diego, the state of Maine, my house, my friends and neighbors, and travel. I am active in local politics. I study my lineage via genealogy and I have 3 American Revolutionary War veteran ancestors. I've lived in this house for 20 years, so can guide you about the local area, to our fabulous nearby pure, white, cool-to-the-feet quartz sand beaches. It is a sight to behold and is called "The Most Beautiful Beach in the World," by our chamber of commerce. There is plenty of other interesting sightseeing, as well. to which I can steer you. There are maps, brochures and articles for your use here in Chez Cove.
Favorite movies: To Kill A Mockingbird, Enemy Mine, Lonely are the Brave, The Third Man, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Mona Lisa Smile, Mouse Trap, Rat Race and Master and Commander
Food: raw oysters, brie, sourdough bread, French onion soup, creme brulee, a crisp chardonnay (if wine counts as food). Oh, and I also enjoy a scotch rocks! The lemon twist in it counts as food.
I like to travel one of two ways: either I hop in my Z and travel with the hatch area full of my stuff or I hop on a jet bound for either Europe or the west coast.
Life motto: ALWAYS attempt to do the right thing.
