is the smallest room in the house ("A broad-minded person finds even a small space accommodating." -Chinese Proverb) and has the best view. Bathroom (not en suite) is semi-private, with a shower and big claw-foot tub.
Oceanfront, down by the dock, private beach. House loaded with art and antiques; library.
Full Breakfast included in price. We serve what I have humorously taken to calling an Off-the-Continental Breakfast (Haida Gwaii is about 100 km off the coast of Canada, as Islanders like to say when they refer to mainland British Columbia) which includes many kinds of coffee, every kind of tea, orange juice laced with elderflower cordial, stewed fruits (prunes, figs, apricots and rhubarb, though rhubarb is technically a vegetable), local wild berries when in season, homemade granola and yoghurt, Susan’s 36-Hour Sourdough Bread and a variety of jams and marmalade.
One thing we can guarantee about a stay at Copper Beach Guest House as described by Margaret Atwood on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) as unique, luverly is that it is an experience.
Gardens, patios, decks. Barbecue. Wireless internet.

I am a Canadian poet, novelist, journalist, lecturer (UBC; Optional Residency in Creative Writing MFA Programme); mother, grandmother of twins, wife of Stephen Reid (drum-maker and author of Jackrabbit Parole and A Crowbar in the Buddhist Garden). I love cooking for guests and making them feel at home at Copper Beech House. We have the most interesting guests in the world come our way (I think!) and what I hear most often, after a visit to Haida Gwaii, is, “This experience changed my life!” We want your stay to be an event in your life, more than just a comfy bed and fresh sourdough bread in the morning. Expect the unexpected, relax into daydreamy Island time, and your visit here will be...utterly memorable.
